They have some weird Canuck lager though.

Sweet tea is a southern thing. Most of the time, you have a choice of sweet or non-sweet.

Are we looking for American restaurants Taiwanese style in Taipei, or Taiwanese restaurants American style in Taipei?

Either way it’s pretty specific.

Either one, really. Restaurants like TKK are quickly becoming my favorites.

Laya Burger I think fits the mold. Interesting how quintessential American dish(can’t say that !!!) , ended up as Taiwanese breakfast food

You know… I pass a Laya burger often on the bus… but I always assumed that it was a lunch/dinner restaurant (because… it’s a burger place)

I’ll check it out!

It serves processed bullsh&t—like far too many of the breakfast chains.

True - but I do enjoy the breakfast chains. Roughly once a week I’ll have lunch at one of those places.

That sounds like a euphemism.

Had many a satisfying brunch there after Carnegie’s next door closed. Sadly, Avenue has come to a dead end.

The genius behind Avenue (as well as her first venture, Sugar Pea, located up Anhe Road) is Sandy Yoon and she is not going anywhere. Her team is, I have heard, reorganizing and will resurface at some point with a new venture and, I think, some kind of central kitchen to make this plan feasible. If and when I find out about it, I will definitely post about it.

so sad, it was a nice joint. She knows what she is doing, so I am looking forward to trying her new venture

Taiwans pizza hut makes me miss UKs pizza hut. Which is saying a lot, I think I went there 3 times in my life.
