Anthony Bourdain dead at 61

Could be a good show, but I guess it’s probably been done. The one with Ricky Gervais is pretty funny, where he sends some other guy into a variety of unusual and more or less uncomfortable situations.

I`ve thought the same thing on a few first dates.:joy:

Wrong. Age standardised rate in the US is 13 per 100k people, traffic related death is 11.5. It is also on an upward trend (while in most other countries it’s stable or going down), and much worse for the male population.

The difference even greater in other countries. Conclusion: suicide is far deadlier than traffic in most places, except Southern Europe and SE Asia, and maybe South America, where people are more happy-go-lucky … both in life and on the road.

Back to Bourdain. The fact that he trash-talked vegetarianism (calling it first world indulgence) is pretty ironic considering that celebrity chef is probably as first world as it could get.

That’s interesting. I had no idea suicide rates had risen so much as traffic fatalities have fallen. Looks like it’s the baby boomers who are witnessing the highest increase.

An interview with Bourdain 4mos before his death.

Dead men tell no tales.

Some of the quotes:
“Piece Of Sh*t” Bill Clinton Is “Entitled, Rapey, Gropey, Grabby, Disgusting”

Bourdain expounded on Hillary, noting “When you’re in the room, you think wow, she’s really warm and nice and funny. But the way they efficiently dismantled, destroyed, and shamelessly discredited these women for speaking their truth…”

On the topic of former President Obama, Bourdain said he found him to be “very unconvincing in public, much of the time. I was always wanting a little more passion, stop halting—the halting, careful speech. In person, absolutely the most gracious, graceful, real, funny, uh, no sense of calculation, honest, I mean, you know. Him I’d vote for fuckin’ again, any time.”

As for President Obama’s photo-op with billionaire Richard Branson right after leaving the White House, Bourdain agreed that it wasn’t a good look.

Good interview!

His gf…uh-ohhhhh. this doesn’t look good.

The notice of intent asked for $3.5 million in damages. The Times reported that the final agreement was reached in April of this year. [year being 2018]

That’s intersectionality to its logical conclusion.

I’m not against the MeToo movement, but it needs better representatives. She and Rose McGowan are awful people. Opportunistic hypocrites. This has been apparent for quite a while.

The problem #Metoo has is its representatives are celebrities. They’re all part of the same cesspit.

She’s doubling down:

How do the rules on always believing the victim apply here?

His assets were only $1.2mn at death.
Not a lot, considering how broad his appeal/shows were.
So, if true, that’s about 1/3 of his money paid to her assault victim.
The hole gets dug deeper.

Blimey, he must have burned through it.

He had a separate trust fund setup.

It says there’s a undisclosed trust for his daughter that’s probably much bigger. But she’s not old enough to get it yet and they aren’t available to the public to see the amount.

Oh, I see. At least he made sure his daughter was sorted. Good guy.

It sounds like unless he blew it in some way I don’t know. He probably put a good chunk in the trust for his daughter. I’m sure the daughter would rather have her dad but at the very least he took care of her financial well being before he left. I know some people commit suicide and leave loads of debt and stuff. Plus you don’t get life insurance in suicides so they don’t even get that.

My mate’s dad was a hopeless alcoholic. Died in his early 50s. But he set up some kind of insurance policy whereby he inherited 500k sterling.

Of course my mate would have preferred a sober father, but at least his dad cared enough to sort him out.

Of course in her sexual assault denial she tries to pass the buck off to her deceased partner (the one she cheated on just before he killed himself). She’s a peach. It’s funny that Gain isn’t here to defend her now.

She’s a piece of work alright.

But life is complicated .
This lad is also out for a money grab…3.5 million USD ?
He was suing his own parents for money too.

And bourdiain had his own demons . Nobody forced him to pay that money.
Guess that’s love for you.
