Itās hard to match Argentoās views about woman victims with her treatment of Jimmy Bennett. Sheās calling him a liar, money-grabber, mentally ill. Her making a payout to him, conveniently through a dead man, massively undermines her attempts to assault Bennettās character and credibility.
Supposedly Rose McGowan is asking people to ābe gentleā on Argento because none of us āknow the truth of the situationā. Are these people so self-obsessed that they believe they can get away with this level of hypocrisy? Or do they genuinely believe that different rules apply to them? I think itās probably the latter.

Sheās hoisted by her own petard. If youāre going to state that victims must always be believed then make sure you havenāt had sex with a teenage boy and/or made a payout to him in return for his silence.
The only thing in her favour is she didnāt get an NDA from him. I presume sheās going to use that in her defence.

I realize this may sound a little bigoted, but Iām having a little trouble imagining a red-blooded 17-year-old not wanting to get with a hot, famous 30-something actress. Maybe she just wasnāt his type? Or maybe he wanted to be faithful to his GF? Anyway, nobody comes out of this mess looking good.
I partially agree, but I donāt think itās that black and white. There are some legitimate creeps and bad hombres getting exposed like Matt Lauer and Weinstein who deserve to go down for their rapey ways. But a lot of innocent people like Aziz Ansari (who I donāt even like) are getting their careers destroyed over bullshit accusations. Thereās a lot of collateral damage, and much of it is perpetrated by hypocrites and opportunists like Rose McGowan, Asia Argento and their Twitter hordes.

Yes, I donāt think that needs to be debated. We should get the creeps but we need evidence. Real evidence and a real Unbiased jury and judge. The whole thing was a trial by public opinion and lots of opportunistic people like this took advantage of people in the name of all the women who have been victims. It got so ridiculous people were losing their jobs for hugging someone.
And Iām not defending Harvey but donāt anyone tell me there werenāt highly ambitious women who probably in a way took advantage of him or at the very least were ok with that arrangement for their careers.

Read this morning that a text exchange between Asia and one of her friend (anonymous, so zero plus credibility) mentioned that the boy had been sending her nudes until a few weeks before the lawsuit. If thatās true, methinks heās now onto trying to milk the cow (no pun). Still thinks it serves Asia well: you canāt demand justice and demonize others, and yet commit de jure paedophilia (tho honestly, wtf with that 18-year-old limit).
It does seem strange considering one can drive at 16 etc. In my younger years, single and working in the USA, a 17 year old girl was quite flirty and asked to spend the night. Although I was single , my american co-workers advised that one could be jailedā¦even though it was consensual . I declined . I was in my mid 20ās and it seemed strange ā¦but that is the Law .

I donāt think itās a ridiculous generalisation to say that everyone in Hollywood is banging everything that moves. Theyāre rich, beautiful, have loads of free time, and are used to getting everything they want.
This is why it was always a massive risk making any of them #Metoo representatives.
Laws telling people when theyāre allowed to do stuff are often weird. Like you can die fighting for Queen and country in the UK before youāre allowed to vote.
