Are nootropics legal and prescription free in Taiwan?

Hi all,

I want to order some bulk Aniracetam powder online, but don’t want the swat team outside my house, in most counties its prescription free, and legal, except i think in Japan Aniracetam is not, but does anyone know if i need a prescription in Taiwan or if its even legal?

I’m going to the pharmacy to ask tmr

cheers for the help

no idea, but you may try calling or visiting GNC. If they sell it, then it should be legal.

its illegal…he said if there’s side effects they are not sure about its prohibited.

I’m going to test him tmr (CDP Choline) that got through customs already.

Why not just call customs or look at their forbidden drugs list and see if its on there? I wasnt aware of those kind of drugs, but some of them seem to go into the direction or Ritalin? In that case, i highly doubt you can just get that stuff in here on a legal basis.

i doubt customs will just show it to me, plus its all in Mandarin, the pharmacist had to translate it first to figure out what it was. too much hassle, im going leave it.

yeah it has a similar effect to Ritalin, but i got CDP choline off iHerb and its a natural supplement, Racetams are freely available in the states, no scripts required.

If it helps, here is the list of banned substances (in English) -> https://www.fda.gov.tw/EN/lawContent.aspx?cid=5061&id=1229

That list gets updated about every 3 months usually.

Also, there seems to be a nootropics company in Taiwan now, but they don’t have Racetams, mostly it looks like something similar to Alpha Brain. -> Focused Taiwan Nootropics

That shit is pumped full of Taurine and they only have one product.

Yeah I don’t know much about that nootropics site.

Though I think Taurine is useful for modulating caffeine. (That’s what they use in Red Bull) Usually people combine l-theanine and caffeine, but Taiwan has strange rules regarding capsulizing both of them. So maybe this is why it’s a Taurine/Guarana compound instead?

Hmmm. What about straight Adderall or Concerta? I have a prescription here in the USA. But was under the impression I could just get it over the counter at a pharmacy there…

Have some Cognium too. But haven’t really noticed it doing anything… (Bought it on clearance)

I would stop taking your prescription meth.

The trouble with Adderall is that amphetamines are banned in Japan. They make it very clear that if you travel to Japan carrying Adderall, you WILL be detained and questioned (unless you’re lucky enough to not get caught). So if you have an Adderall prescription and you feel the need to take your medicines while vacationing/doing business trips in Japan, you either need to discuss with your treating specialist about changing to Concerta or you’re out of luck.
Concerta being methylphenidate is OK to bring into Japan.

huh… good to know. what if i just have a japan layover in narita for like
4hrs…?
hahaha…
yeah, well, i used to take concerta 10yrs ago in college. stopped as soon
as i got outta school. but restarted this semester as i went back to school
to change my major.
as i will be going to TW to study, and it does help me concentrate, and,
well, focus on study (being dyslexic dysgraphic and ADHD)… i wa scurious.
id ont like takin ANY meds.
prefer natural solutions. havent found any.
Mate is pretty good for staying awake. but not necessarily concentratin.
and yes, i noticed its an amphetamine. esp now when i got switched to
adderall (as concerta gives me headaches now… not sure why. didnt ten
years ago)
havent started takin adderall… pain in the ass to get the prescription
filled. will prob start later this week as i have all of 5 weeks to
interview and write my thesis (IRB took forever. hopefully approved tmew)

so.
open to suggestions.
and what to do in taiwan, as thats what i plan to be doin there the next
5-10 years. school.

so… adderall at 10ml immediate release seems good, but not enough. and ifg ic ant get it thru Jp to get to TW, no use at all. concerta was OK. not great. but gave me headaches. my friends in TW tell me u can only get Rittlin and its not nearly as good.
alternatives?
tks

Digging this up to see if any newcomers have any news about this or any updates? I used to take l-theanine, caffeine, and noopept back in the states and it worked really well for memory, focus, work and study.

I’ve been struggling to focus lately and I really don’t want to dip into amphetamines. I’d much rather prefer something that actually has neuroprotective qualities like noots do.

So, is it all still illegal?

Self-dig. Noopept is not scheduled and I had no trouble bringing it in alongside phenibut. I’m going to attempt a shipment into Taiwan from overseas and see if it gets stopped. I’d hope not, but it is a packet of powder so…
If it is inspected I hope someone is competent enough to check that it’s legal - but given my experiences I’m not holding my breath.

Wellbutrin (Bupropion). It’s a stimulant antidepressant that can also be used to treat ADHD, and it’s legal and prescribed in Taiwan.

Interesting, what’s it like?

noopept is mostly to help neuroplasticity and memory formation, information retention. supposed to help the brain too. no psychoactive effects I’ve encountered.

phenibut is essentially GABA capable of crossing the BBB. small doses elicit an alertness and energy, large doses act more like a drunken feeling, without the slurry and stumbling. mildly entactogenic. no health benefits as far as im aware and something to be used once a week or every other week even. more of a treat and nice alcohol replacement.

Enough of this small talk…

Where to get the stuff, any stuff? Legally of course.
