For example, when I asked my Taiwanese girlfriend what she wanted to eat, she said, “Well I eat everything.” I didn’t take the statement at face value since I think everyone has likes and dislikes. I think it’s just another way of saying she’ll accommodate the guy.

Most women will do this when you first start dating. She’s not being submissive as such. She’s doing a few things simultaneously: seeing how you negotiate her preferences (“Chinese or Western?”); checking if you can make decisions (“ok, I’ll book a table at XYZ then”); checking if your tastes are authentically compatible with hers; gauging how much cash you have in your bank … probably a lot of other things besides.
Of course she might just be one of those women who doesn’t know what she wants - if she makes no sensible responses to you trying to elucidate what sort of food she likes (“oh I don’t mind, really”), and then pouts when you bring her to somewhere she clearly doesn’t like, she’ll be a right pain in the arse.

Taiwanese girls wants men to lead. They want a man with whom they can be lazy and don’t need to think of anything at all. They want the guy to make plans, take her to new places, take her to vacations, heck bring his own car to take her to a place he chose . Their job is to judge and then see if u r suitable guy she wanna stay with longer based on what decisions u have made

Lol the comments here. Stop labeling her and see her as an individual. It could be a billion things. Maybe even it’s just food and some people don’t care about food? It could be a plan to make you relax and then she will rob you or kill you. Deal with the individual. As a general rule though? Not really more submissive but they do tend to still value chivalrous acts and a manly man. There’s also a larger cohort than west that prefer super girly k-pop kind of guys so I don’t think there’s any value in over generalizations.

I wouldn’t say submissive, but more accommodating yes. Less likely to say no as well (caution: this does not mean they agree with you).
But generally, once you date enough, you’d notice it applies to women, and men of all cultures (that I know if).

My gf says she has zero interest and opinion on food.
Its nonsense, she has plenty of things she likes and dislikes(british food) and if super hungry will want so and so hot pot or bubble tea.
Its basically just a way of saying she doesn’t want to have to choose anything or use her brain… and i agree cus her choices are usually crap if i leave it up to her.

Actually, she wants to eat “this”. She appears like she’s giving free will to choose, but it’s her choice already.
