Asians (taiwanese/japanese) Who Acknowledge Others on the Street

As a side note from this group of posts:

Foreigners Who Don’t Acknowledge Other Foreigners on the Street

It might be me or my co worker, when in other cites like Tallinn (Estonia or other Baltics) or even Tainan, do more than Acknowledge , chat a bit or longer, even a few new LINE friends.

Was in Malta this past weekend. Meet a Japan student (ELT student) which we met on the aeroplane, as he sat next to my co worker. Anyways, meet him at his English school in Malta to have lunch, arrived a bit early got out of the car on small street, two Chinese ladies in front starting talking within a minute out of the car, a few min. later in Chinese till the Japanese guy came. Seems odd, but seems happen more than I would think with so few east asians in Malta.
