As mentioned in another thread, I’m in the process of mailing my Bahamian marriage certificate to TECO in Miami for authentication. They have told me the translated Chinese version needs to be notarized by a Florida notary. Since I’m mailing this in from Hong Kong, this imposes yet another significant burden. I may as well show up in person in Miami if it cannot be done otherwise!
They said they can authenticate the English version without the translation. Does anyone know if I can have the translation and authentication of the translation performed in Taiwan after authentication of the marriage certificate? Sources online seem to suggest that the translation must be authenticated by the same TECO office that authenticated the original documents! I’ve asked Miami TECO, but they’ve failed to answer my question to my satisfaction.
when i had my documents translated and certified, i had them legalised first by the UK government, then translated and then certified in Taiwan including the translation of legalisation certificate.
with all the stamps, translations and certifications, each document has become a hefty bundle.
