⚾ Baseball - Taiwan

This isn’t the first time Cespedes came to Taiwan as a part of Team Cuba. I think back in 2010 he played for Cuba in the XVII IBAF Intercontinental Cup. That was also his last Team Cuba outing, since he defected in 2011. It’s funny that the first time he redons the Team Cuba jersey he’s doing so in Taiwan as well.

Taiwan and Cuba were both in Pool A for the 2010 Intercontinental Cup. Taiwan lost that match-up 0 to 2. Players on that 2010 Team Cuba roster includes José Abreu and Yulieski Gurriel.

The MLB and WBC release a poster for each WBC pool. At least one player from each team is featured on thepister for their pool. However, Team Taiwan is missing on the Pool A poster.

Organizations involved in putting the team together and broadcasting this WBC demanded for the poster to fixed. As of yet no new poster as made.

Some hardcore Taiwanese baseball fan fixed it for them.

Tseng Jen-Ho injured his back, he might have to sit out of the tournament. Wu Che-Yuan has been called back. As mentioned, we still don’t know if Teng Kai-Wei will be allowed to come back. So we might need to recall one more pitcher. At this point, we only have Lin Kai-Wei left from the 36-men roster.

Those cheerleaders are nothing but knees and elbows but great job.

I looked up the exact injury and it looks like tightness. I hope he can still pitch.

I don’t wanna be here.

He looks like he’s handcuffed.

and why Lu Xiuyan? What does she has anything to do with Yuchen or baseball?

Is Chang from Taichung?

Chang got a contract with the Bosox We’re all happy!

Good for everyone.

It’s sad that plenty of players with at least minor league experience in the Fubon organization had sub-par performances for the last couple of seasons. Otherwise, we’d probably be able to have a couple more sluggers in the outfield and behind the plate.

He’s a Pangcah Amis from Taidong. He did go to high school in Taichung, but that has nothing to do with Lu either.

Lu is the mayor so she’s scoring political points with a celebrity.

Jen Ho is done. What the hell?

So this mar You Chang Team Taiwan’s first active major leaguer in history.

Team Netherlands oughta be a pleasure to watch. Lots of stars in their lineup, but not that scary since they’re mostly over-the-hill. Jonathan Schoop got fat.

And no pitching.

Yu Chang was on fire in the warm up game with the Rakuten Monkeys today. 4 for 4, one homerun, 4 RBI.

Po-rong hit 2 for 3. Not bad actually, his swing looked normal.

Looking good. I’d like to see how Cuba does vs the CPBL.

Fubon 2 Cuba 1.

Fubon beat Cuba again. Cuba is hiding its big guns.

Because Taichung intercontinental stadium is hosting the games. Why didn’t I think of that?

Not saying I care about whatever crap she’s spouting.

Not exactly an expert breakdown, but entertaining nonetheless. :joy:
