Such juvenile behavior. Just play the game and respect your opponent.

That elbow that started it was dirty AF.

I thought he hit the ball against the nose. Need to watch it again…

Maybe, I think he got him with the elbow though. Anyway, why swinging like that?

That guy is a right state. Looks like he just got in from the a club. Is he an ex-player?

I looked online and it looks like he is. Also saw something that his nickname is BIG FISH HEAD.

When the Taoyuan Leopards signed NBA legend Dwight Howard, there were high hopes they would quickly move to first place and dominate the league. The first game Howard played was against DEA, which is arguably the best team in Taiwan. DEA dominated the first half, but Leopards came back to tie it and send it into overtime for a win.

From there it was downhill for a while, starting with a 103-94 loss to Taichung Suns. Howard also suffered an injury early on, leaving him out for several games. His return from injury put him against a new lineup for the Tainan Ghosthawks with three huge giants: The 7’+ Robert Upshaw, 7’5" 360 lb giant Sim Bhullar, and the even taller 7’7" Sam Deguara. (Sim is the 6th tallest player in NBA history, Sam is the 2nd tallest). The leopards played three games that weekend and lost all three. Their final game that weekend was against the Kaohsiung Aquas, a game that Howard had to pull out of in the last minute of the game and not play. The Leopards have been in last place all season. Even though they have some of the best players in the league (Mike Efevberha is one of the best shooters in Taiwan, and many of their local players are some of the best and most experienced), they often did not seem to be playing as a team.

Today they went against the Tainan Ghosthawks and came away with a 107-97 win. Efevberha lead the Leopards with 34 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 dimes.

Because of this win, Leopards now are in 5th place with a 6-16 record (27.3%), while the Taichung Suns have now dropped down to last place with a 6-17 record (26.1%).

Leopards take on Kaohsiung Aquas tomorrow and the Suns travel to take on DEA. DEA is on a 9-game winning streak and the Suns are struggling, with a lot of changed players and some injuries this season. DEA is really likely to win that game. Suns have 6 games left this season, 2 of which are against DEA, and one against second place Ghosthawks. Tough schedule to look forward to.

Aquas were one of the best teams in the league, but have struggled lately. They are on a 2 game losing streak, but still have still have #5 (Brickman) who is the league’s leading assist king, and one of four people who had over 1000 total NCAA assists. He generally gets a double double every game, with points and assists.

Taiwan Beer Herobears play DEA tonight at 7:00 PM. An upset by the Herobears will put them at exactly 50%, and still in 4th place. If Leopards can beat the Aquas tomorrow, it will move the Aquas win percentage to about 51.8%. Aquas will still hold third, but not by much.

Standings now:
DEA: 18-4 81.8%
Ghosthawks: 15-9 62.5%
Kaohsiung Aquas: 14-12 53.8%
Taiwan Beer Herobears: 11-12 47.8%
Taoyuan Leopards 6-16 27.3%
Taichung Suns 6-17 26.1%

Uh oh. Cheap laoban. To the point of being insulting.

They only paid him a million and they STILL cut his pay?

Even Howard isnt safe from taiwan’s lower wage tradition

No reason for him to stay then. He can make that on NBA vets min contract or another country country.

I am sure he will be back though. Cant say no to a place that treated you like a celebrity in your declining years

He can come back as a coach when he’s retired or when the nba won’t pay him as much

Lol, DAHEQ is this?

Yesh this is par for the course bullshit contracts that Taiwanese companies will try and get you to sign if they want you but don’t want to pay market rate.

Would be interesting to find out whether the signing of Howard made that team and the league any money or not. The team didn’t really improve, did it?

Bye bye, Dwight?

Demarcus Cousins is reportedly signed to Taiwan Beer Leopards in the T-1 League. This is actually great for Taiwanese basketball.

4-game deal?
