She added the most important thing parents can do to protect their children is to not make them feel ashamed.

I think i have found a problem.

Blame and shame is the name of the game.

How strict is patient confidentiality in Taiwan? Can the kids get checked out without their parents finding out? Does Taiwan have sexual health classes were they say “don’t be silly, cover the willy” and inform the youngsters that getting checked out by a doctor even without symptoms, is a good thing?

They might not inform the parents. Especially if they are in fact adults themselves.

However, Chen Tai Tai who stuck her head in while you were getting checked and asked the receptionist what you are there for will tell the parents in a group chat faster than the speed of light.

Thanks for the info. I guess most people here are outside that age bracket (or dating outside it), but the problem is affecting all ages I’m afraid: lacking sex education plus the already mentioned shame. Most guys and gals I talked to were only vaguely aware of other risks of unprotected sex besides pregnancy. Shocking, really.

There were more or less anonymous non-hospital test possibilities in Taipei, but my info is severely outdated…

A licensed red light area with educated sex workers would help.

Not helping for people under 18, right?

Under 18 just should not have sex well I’d say under 16 shouldn’t be having it. They need to be educated to wrap it before tapping it.

I noticed in Amsterdam every male toilet had a condom vending machine.

I just realized this is a woman only Forum do I’m out ,apologies。but yeah condoms for the win.

Exactly. Regulated red light district would help with (way) over 18s… But for under 18 education seems slightly more helpful ^^

Not a lot, numerically.

Yes, they teach about this and prevention. I think almost most people know this in Taiwan

Some countries don’t have sex ed in high school

I remember putting condoms on bananas 30 years ago…

Taiwan is better, thousands or places open 24 hours (Family, Seven, ect) with wee bit more choices and brands (I think they have Durex, I will go look at lunch if I remmber)
