Shade doesn’t do much in Taipei’s summer months

You’d be surprised. It does a lot. So long as you have showers at the end (if you’re headed to work).

You’re back to the original statement

I don’t know how much people have noticed. Everyone seems to be doing their own thing. I have had a couple go under water as I do the turn to see what I’m doing. But something like that almost never happens. It’s nice being one the better swimmers on most days (I won’t lie to you), but I really never get any kind of big head or anything. It’s been a while since I’ve raced in a triathlon, but that experience ensures that I’ll never think too greatly of myself. So many guys out there that are so, so much better than me. And of course, everyone has a weakness. For example, I get passed a lot (as in all the time!) whenever I head to the track.

Shade is a huuuge factor in summer months. Even if it’s like a .3 degree difference, it’s still a difference.

I tie my bandana over my head before putting on my helmet. Makes a difference in the summer heat.
