What are the benefitis of having a NWOHR TW passport besides entering TW without a visa (which many countries can do)?

Didn’t we have this discussion the last time you were in Taiwan?

There’s a nice thread on NWOHR passport travel here

If you ever find your way into full citizenship (getting yourself onto HHR), you don’t have to renounce your current citizenship since you skip the naturalization step.

Dun think there’s much else left really, unless you count not getting conscripted if staying in Taiwan on a TARC as one (for males).

But laws have changed.

ROC nationality can be passed down to your children even if you don’t have household registration

ā€˜Consular’ assistance/protection from ROC quasi diplomatic posts. As well as Chinese embassies if you’re that way inclined.

Visa free access to countries that may not be the same as your other passport (if you have one)

Expedited access to household registration compared to foreigners (usually)

No need for a work permit if you don’t have other nationalities

An easy retort to service staff who like to say 外國äŗŗäøč”Œ

With the NWOHR TW passport you cannot use to travel other countries. Neither enjoy the visa free access like a normal TW passport.

Until you obtain the TW citizenship, you will be granted a full benefit TW passport.

This is not correct.

The countries you can access visa free are not the same. All countries accept NWOHR for entry except Georgia and China

is it a NWOHR passport? Or a real TW passport?

It’s mine. NWOHR

But are you not a tw citizen?

Obviously, I hold a Taiwanese NWOHR passport.

So, you dont have TW ID? because one of the feature of the NWOHR passport is the TW ID is missing

I know my status. I don’t have a TW national ID. As I’ve said I am a national without household registration.

So, by possesing that passport, nwohr passport. You can have the free visa benefits as a normal tw passport? Because tw embassy told me I cannot use to travel free visa countries or apply e-visas.

travel priviledges are different

Which website can I see the list of countries where can I use a NWOHR passport free visa?

Where’s the text from? It looks like something generated by AI — is it?

Yes, it is. That“s why I want to have a official website where it says so.

How do you know you can use it tto travel other countries without required visa? Official source?

So it’s not a reliable source for ā€œtravel priviledges are differentā€ then…
