Betelnut Flower 檳榔花 is Yum

Really like eating betelnut flower as a side dish to accompany the rest of the dishes.

Not so common in North Taiwan, but Central and South where betelnut farms flourish, it’s of course more readily available.

Can’t really find any nutritional information about eating the flower. Google information just talks about the nut itself.

If nothing else maybe at least has some fiber.

I don’t know if there’s any similar stimulant effects like the nut or negative health effects like the nut if you eat it daily.

It’s that or nut, no in-between.

It’s probably full of betel-y goodness. How is it cooked?

The restaurants at the top of the Maokong gondola knock up a yummy dish of that.

You often see it served in those buddhist vegetarian restaurants.

One of my favorite dishes. Not a fan of it in soup, more as a vevgie plate. If in the south, ask them to avoid the mayo/look alike sauce and definately NO chocolate sprinkles. Thats just nasty and wrong.
