BigDave’s weight loss progress

It is the easiest but the hardest thing in the world. I love bread too so if I ever stopped eating it, it would be short term to get the pounds off. Do what works for you.

Yep. Weight changes day to day no doubt. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t check. I think you should check every day but understand that it will fluctuate and you are looking for it to be trending downwards. I’ve put my daily numbers here to highlight that. I’m actually comparing this Wednesday to last Wednesday, not to the day before.

Sorry Mr. Dave, I didn’t mean to come across as negative, I was actually replying to someone else who was discouraged by a one day weight gain. Keep up the great work!

No problem Ron. I didn’t take it as a negative comment.

I only noticed that you were talking to the other guy after I responded but I thought your comment about the problem of weighing yourself every day and my response were both valid so I left it there.

The point we can agree on is that you shouldn’t stress over day to day fluctuations.

day 8 = 169lb
day 9 = 169lb
day 10 = 169lb
day 11 = 169lb

You are doing great, Dave! Here’s my stats.

I wanted to do at least one 24 hours fast this week. I failed to do that, but I am still happy with the results I got with two incomplete fasts. I’ll admit that in addition to fasting, I have made some changes to my diet like reducing carbs and dropping the nightly beer.

Happy with the results overall! Won’t be fasting on the weekend but will continue Monday! Cheers!

I didn’t plan to eat today but I had a banging headache all day and I don’t like taking tablets on an empty stomach. I already torture my stomach by drinking black coffee. Apparently that ruins your stomach lining. Been doing it twenty years and I’m not dead yet.

Going to hold it there and do omad until next maybe next Monday and then I will push on to 95kg. 10 fasting days to lose about 10 lbs.

It’s not nearly as awful as a lot of advice out there, but this diet contains insufficient fat; people won’t be able to stick to it for precisely the same reason they can’t stick to other low-carb low-fat diets, as mentioned in the article. Add some bacon, avocados, greasy steaks, butter/cream, coconut oil, and similar to that basic plan and it’ll work fine, and you’ll be able to sustain it for a lot longer.

As it stands, even if it works, you’ll feel like shit after two weeks and will pack those 20 pounds right back on again after you “go back to eating normally”. 99% of advice about “losing weight” completely fails to address the fact that people get fat in the first place because their “normal” diet is unhealthy, not because humans are naturally predisposed to go to seed. Dietary changes have to be sustainable and permanent.

Agree 100 percent. Don’t cut those fats. Low carb…high fat for the win. Also, don’t be scared of salt.

I agree with this but you can obviously do some things to lose the weight and then do others to maintain when you get there. Just don’t go back to the diet that made you fat.

There is an argument for slow and steady weight loss. The problem is that if you are 300 pounds then losing a pound a week for two years is an awful long time. Most will give up before they get there. If you could get 50 off in the first two months and then move towards a more sustainable plan, i think more could do it.

That’s great progress. You are in the 90s already.

I have been lazy with my tracking. Didn’t check my weight everyday like I planned. Still haven’t been able to do a continuous 48 fast. The results are okay though. My goal is to get in to the 60’s at least.
