Apparently there is currently a shortage. Hope more people donate blood. I do it a few times a year.

I’m already planning to donate next week.
Every three months a donation bus goes to my company and stays there the whole day collecting blood donations.

I thought you can with an ARC?
Not all foreigners can give, ARC or whatever does not matter, country of origin does, or rather whatever they think at the reception desk.
We can try, but as I said, if they allow us, we will, if not, then we won’t.

I don’t think it’s about your country origin rather when was the last time you’ve went home. For some countries, it’s no visits in the past 3 months, for others 6 months and some maybe even more.

Yep. I’d love to donate but I’m riddled with the old mad cow disease. My blood type is quite rare, too, which makes it more of a shame.

I think it’s fine for foreigners to donate through company donations like @RickRoll mentioned in his post.
The last time I tried in a collection place (a bus set up in the city), I was told that foreigners can’t donate because of Mad Cow disease.

I’m ineligible to donate, because I had hepatitis A when I was twelve. I fail to see the logic in that.
Can’t. They think I somehow harbour mad cow disease or some garbage like that.

Mad Cow is based on skin color, regardless of if you were in the UK when it was happening or if you even eat red meat. Taiwanese who were studying in England during that period are immune.

Last time I donated they didnt check much. From canada and at that time on jfrv. Tick and tick. Havent tried since.

Who cannot donate are
第四條 捐血者有下列情形之一者，應暫緩捐血：
一、婦女懷孕中或產後（含流產後）六個月以內者。
二、大手術未滿一年或一年內曾接受輸血者。
三、四星期內曾接種麻疹、德國麻疹、腮腺炎及小兒麻痺（口服）等活性減毒疫苗者。
四、六個月內曾罹患肝炎或密切接觸肝炎病患者。
五、現患梅毒、活動性結核病、糖尿病、心臟病、消化道潰瘍出血、高血壓、腎臟病、哮喘、感冒、急性感染、傳染病、過敏病症者。
六、自瘧疾疫區回國一年內或曾在三年內罹患瘧疾者。
七、曾在七十二小時內拔牙者。
八、曾在五天內服用含Aspirin類藥物或其他可抑制血小板功能之藥物者，不得捐血小板。

十、C型肝炎病毒抗體檢查呈陽性反應者。
十一、民國六十九年至八十五年間曾在英國輸血或曾至英國旅遊或居留時間合計超過三個月者，或民國六十九年以後曾於歐洲旅遊或居留時間合計超過五年者。
十二、經通報為嚴重急性呼吸道症候群疑似或可能病例，於治療痊癒後，未逾三個月內者。
十三、曾與嚴重急性呼吸道症候群疑似或可能病例密切接觸，於最後接觸日起一個月內者。
十四、自有地區性傳播嚴重急性呼吸道症候群之地區回國後一個月內者。
十五、自西尼羅病毒流行區離境日起一個月內者。
十六、懷疑自己感染愛滋病毒者或二年內曾與可能感染愛滋病毒者發生性行為者。
十七、一年內曾從事危險性行為或曾罹患性病（梅毒、淋病、披衣菌、生殖器皰疹、軟性下疳、尖型濕疣等）者。
十八、一年內曾刺青者。
第五條 捐血者有下列情形之一者，永不得捐血：
一、曾患惡性腫瘤、白血病或其他經醫師認為永久不得捐血者。
二、曾有出血不止、抽痙或昏迷之病史者。
三、曾有吸毒或慢性酒精中毒者。
四、靜脈注射藥物成癮者、男性間性行為者及長期使用血液製劑者。
五、曾為AIDS患者。
六、愛滋病毒第一型及第二型（HIV-I / HIV-II）抗體檢查經確認呈陽性反應者。
七、人類嗜T淋巴球病毒第一型（HTLV-I）抗體檢查經確認呈陽性反應者。
八、曾罹患庫賈氏病者（CJD）、曾注射人類腦下垂體生長荷爾蒙者、曾注射人類腦下垂體親生殖腺素（human pituitary gonadotropins）者、曾注射牛胰島素等生物製劑者、曾接受硬腦膜移植者或家族中有庫賈氏病（CJD）患者。
九、曾從事性工作者。
