There is nothing racist about asking whether Asians or Muslims may be disproportionately represented in any form of crime. That doesn’t mean that any investigation or claim should be uncritically accepted. There is equally nothing racist about white researchers calling out the work of non-whites as shoddy.

These are terrible crimes. There needs to be a proper public debate. The victims, indeed all of us, deserve better than this.

Imagine if this happened for example in Japan or China Korea and it was done by a foreigner. Wouldn’t people in those countries see it as a 1 more reason to further exclude any immigration? They would DEFINITELY see it as an immigration issue

He was a fee paying student not one of the large swathes of recent migrants. This is not an immigrant issue at all. He was just one very. sick twisted person.

I seem to remember they actually thought that was a good idea about 5 years ago; a lot of Chinese students had their visa renewal requests denied (I forget what petty squabble was behind that). The gov’t then found out that this destroyed an enormous revenue stream. Whoever would have guessed, eh?

Indeed. Approximately 1% of people are psychopaths, supposedly. So, there’s always going to be the odd one or two entering any country. What solution could there be? Ban all immigration? We’d be buggered if that were the case. Loser - where are you living?

Noble of you to think so, but while it would be better to have less noblesse and more oblige … Chinese Koreans Taiwanese Japanese Saudis would never oblige you. I’m stating not what I think but rather the view of countries which hate foreigners but want a warm welcome when they emigrate. They would see the case of a foreigner rapist in their country as a evidence that there’s too much immigration.
