Changing the default style to prosilver-forumosa

Hi folks

Next week, I plan to make the prosilver-forumosa style the default style for the forums. For those of you who are already using it, you won’t notice any difference, well, except for the color scheme changes that began today. For others, if you want to continue to use the original Forumosa style (based on the earlier forum software theme), you can switch back from the User Control Panel (UCP), which you will find is near the top-left corner of the prosilver-forumosa style.

We are abandoning the older style because it is not designed to handle the way phpBB3 is designed, which not only uses smaller template files (so loads faster), but handles features like poll voting, which – like other features – was re-programmed in phpBB3.

Keep well
gus.

So, will polls work again?

Polls have always worked … in prosilver. They will continue to not work in the older style

I was wondering about all the strange colors. I thought someone had spiked my drink with acid…

If your drink has acid in it… a little baking soda should bring its pH level back to acceptable level… although baking soda may taste weird.

I really like the new color scheme.

I really like the new color scheme.
Me too.

Yeah, but it’s a little disorienting having the buttons and things in different places.
(sigh)
But I guess we’ll learn.

Kind of feels like the whole 8-track thing all over again…

Don’t know what just happened, but I posted something and suddenly things got a lot prettier around here. I like it!

That’s just because I came back on.

You’re welcome.

Freaked me out. I’m in the middle of finishing my writeup on Hainan and I thought I’d clicked on a tourism website.

Actually I don’t like it as text is not distinct enough from signature line and titles.

Dunno yet. Looks too much like a blog.

And ads are still the same size, so they feel like floating, like they don’t belong.

Looks nice, in 1024x768, not so nice in 2048x1152…
Is it possible to do a fixed width instead of the odd stretching that’s going on now?
I guess I’m using an extremely high resolution screen, but I’d bet it looks odd at 1920xwhatever as well…
Otherwise, huge improvement

Just change back to “forumosa” in your user control panel if you don’t like it.

I don’t like it … it’s incomplete … :ohreally: and a mess …

That’s just because I came back on.

You’re welcome.
Chiefy.

Is there a reason why the 101 banner is cropped right in the middle? Can’t they take a picture of the 101 in the right position without the ugly wrap-around?

HATE IT!

Edit.
Whew! That’s better. Back to the usual.
Sorry Gus, but it looks too much like the other boards out there.

Better than it was, definitely. But… chunky. Unfinished. Floating banners and ads.
No notification of unread posts in the New listing. :frowning:
A stripped down version would serve well for the mobile version, I think.
