Itâs true that Florida has a COVID death rate somewhat higher than the US average, but itâs still very small numbers. Theyâre averaging 30-50 deaths a day, mostly (as we all know) people in their 80s with comorbidities. More life-years are currently being lost in âthat troubled stateâ in car accidents than to COVID. Official estimates for suicide state â49,282 life-yearsâ lost to suicide in Florida, assuming a natural death at age 65.
COVID in Florida is a problem, for the same reason road accidents and suicides are a problem. But it is not the problem. DeSantis, IMO, has the right idea.
Ever thought you may have been hoodwinked?
Is there a reason Pfizer does not want the likes of Ivermectin available (in the leaked contract from Albania for their inoculation if I recall) alongside their potions?
2000 participants? Interesting. Ivermectin studies (the largest having a few hundred participants) are being dismissed as worthless because they donât have enough participants.
âAt least 233 staffers at a pair of San Francisco hospitals have tested positive for COVID-19, the majority of whom were fully vaccinated but became infected with the delta variant.â
First off, youâre taking these important workers out of service, causing disruptions to health care.
Second, they may infect others, leading to further possible trouble.
Third, even if they all live, some will likely be affected by so-called âlong COVID,â impacting the quality of their lives and their abilities to contribute, and putting further strain on a system that was not designed to deal with this.
The vaccines are working, to a degree, and your fears are misplaced. I hope someday you can push past fearing worst possible outcomes for which there is no evidence
I do worry honestly about the all-or-nothing thinking that seems to be prevalent on this board. Iâm not satisfied with this thinking, and I donât think you should be satisfied with it either.
At some point we have to return to normality. This will mean accepting people contracting the virus while fully vaccinated. Some of them may experience illness. Evidence to date shows this is a very small number.
Otherwise, itâs social distancing measures for ever.
