Oh god no! We’ve already got Covid in Taiwan, Covid vaccines in Taiwan, Vaccines in general, Covid quarantine, probably ten threads started by Tommy about how he’s doing with Covid, who knows what else. Just make it a focused poll on how the roll-out should proceed in Taiwan. That’s an interesting question, although I’d have thought the answers are fairly obvious (most people want a logical roll-out based on who’s in the most danger, with equal treatment for ARC & APRC-holders and citizens).
Then again, if there’s one thing I’ve learned from forumosa, it’s that what I think is fairly obvious is going to turn out to be anything but.
No. Thanks for asking! This is a democratic forum. I am self-silenced. It’s easier just to observe the “discourse” than attempt to contribute or to find answers to topics/issues of interest to the myself re the community. I prefer to see myself as admonished rather than bullied.
Pick and choose your battles, I’ve been told. My questions re attitudes towards (potential and future) vaccinations had been, from reliable sources, already posed. I cannot see evidence of that, but may the masses speak if they see fit. No need to further elaborate I suppose.
We’re all struggling and a bit testy these days. My best friend just found out his brother (US) has COVID. We also have recent reports that the vaccines may not protect against newer mutations. Tears in my eyes, I pray for loved ones near and far. No bad intentions. May we all overcome
My dad tested positive a bit back, 78. A bit under the weather but nothing too bad, negative now. My sister-in-law is still not doing great after months though
take heart Brian. All my wifes family in indo got it and all recovered except her dad who is almost recovered. She went back to visit , but only went as far as Jakarta to see sisters there who are recovered. She didnt want to go to bangka island to see her parents as they are not fully recovered. So she flew like 40 hours round trip to NOT see her parents.
and as an aside tommy didnt start any threads on covid (that he can remember) but when he thinks of something he just puts it in any thread that may have a slight relevance…so solly )
Great to hear about your dad but about your sister. Hope she makes a full recovery soon. Some people take awhile to get back up to speed. God bless , sending a prayer her way.
solly to chime in again, bear in mind that im awake when you guys are asleep, etc.
but the thought that covid is not a real threat is pretty ridiculous really !
It is a dang big threat and that is why every country in the world is shaking in its boots.
We do need the vaccine and so far Im happy there is good progress, a few deaths but still good progress.
I was one of the early ones warning about the deadly potential of this virus and people censured me , but im happy that it has not come out as bad as I had originally feared (so far).
But economies are banged up, milions of people are affected. It is a pandora’s box type of virus. God bless us all and I do hope and pray mankind with the help of the good Lord finds our way out of this mess this year.
The US has taken steps to ban travellers who have visited the UK and Ireland with immediate effect and a few other countries thrown in. Biden is working to get things done as one of the first things in his presidency.
And we are hearing on the news the UK strain is much more transmissible and perhaps more deadly but the vaccine should work on it as well.
Most Americans can’t get a vaccine as yet even if we wanted one. So far only emergency workers and people living in old folks homes and now people over 65 are on the list next.
I will get the vaccine but i want to get it a bit later so i can see which brand i want to risk it with.
I suppose i should go get my flu shot, which i havent as yet this year.
but because of all the covid precautions FLU infection rates are way lower this year in the USA.
If two million liberals where reading on Forumosa today, I am sure more than 12 would be dead within days. Some of them would get a stroke or heart attack while reading here.
Droped dead on the spot, left hand on ctrl, right hand on enter and the head on tab.
