The call goes unheard. As per tv news, SET if I am not mistaken, a certain factory manager patronized a special hostess club in Taoyuan…brought the infection back to a factory full of SEA workers.
But now all such clubs in Taoyuan are closed.
What a joke. I hope that’s just a simplified graphic for the media, not really what we were joking about before.

Has there been any information related to positive cases that previously had a vaccination while in Taiwan?
I have not seen reporting about this in Taiwan. But I have heard about this happening in Singapore. It’s definitely something to watch out for, especially with the new variants!

I’ve heard the Philippines discovered a new variant (mix of UK and India).
Vietnam (or Vietnam as well)
I’m not going to search for it right now, but there are plenty of cases in other countries of vaccinated people getting the virus. Search for “breakthrough infections”, although I forget if that applies to only symptomatic people or nonsymptomatic as well. BUT as a percentage, such cases are very rare, and actually getting seriously ill is very very rare. There was an interesting story about one of the New York baseball teams a week back.
Complicating factor: is ANYONE in Taiwan fully vaccinated yet? A bunch of us have had a first shot: has anyone had a second shot, or one of the one-shot vaccines?
I’ll bet diplomatic corps at the AIT and perhaps other de facto embassies have been fully vaccinated.
Other than that, who knows?

The only 1-shot vaccine I know of is Johnson & Johnson, and unfortunately it’s never been imported here. My older brother in NYC got J&J.
The Seychelles is a good example showing that vaccination does not necessarily end all problems. They used AZ and Chinese, have one of the world’s highest vaccination rates and have skyrocketing infections nevertheless.
At the same time I saw data from Israel that Pfizer/Biontech has a breakthrough rate of infection and death of only 3%
Yeah, true. I guess I meant more with Taiwan’s own vaccine programs. For example, I got the self-pay AZ jab on the first day possible, and I wasn’t supposed to get the second dose until June 16 (good luck with that now, sigh). I’m not sure when the front line workers who were willing to take it would have had their shot, or if the date for their #2 has even arrived yet.
Wonder if the spreader pilots were vaccinated?
