One in five within three months, against one in four in your life, which one would you take?

Agreed. I just agreed because it’s suggesting there might be a cognitive component to the disease. It’s really times and we’re learning more as we go. It’s looking more and more like it’s not just a respiratory disease.
Not conclusive at all, but I’m sure more studies will look into this
You have to consider that the reason people are more likely to become mentally ill after a diagnosis might be because they are put in complete isolation for weeks, not because the virus affects their mental health.
The list of mental illnesses in the article were on the milder side of the spectrum, insomnia, anxiety and such. Not diminishing these as very serious for their sufferers, but maybe the patients in the study were just freaked out by reading the non stop flow of scary headlines about the disease from which they are suffering?
The test would be done in two parts:
Observations if your body has produced the anti-bodies after a specified period of time.
A small scale exposure to covid-19 to determine if the anti-bodies are reacting and fighting the virus.
Surely some of the pro vaccine crew here will put their money where their mouths are and sign up?
Pro vaccine means you support and are willing to take vaccines that have been vigorously tested, not inject yourself with something new and untested. I believe in the effectiveness of vaccines but no way I’m entering myself into some random trial.
I wonder if like the UK, Taiwan will also use an AI to process the large number of expected adverse reactions?
The MHRA urgently seeks an Artificial Intelligence (AI) software tool to process the expected high volume of Covid-19 vaccine Adverse Drug Reaction (ADRs) and ensure that no details from the ADRs’ reaction text are missed.
Five more imported cases reported today—all from Indonesia:

If you want to be a guinea pig, better sign up quickly. Here are the numbers as of 8:28AM (and they increased by 15 while I was writing this)

Have any of us atogas signed up?
Think I’ll give that a hard pass! Other than the potential danger of taking a pretty much untested vaccine, who knows what false positives it will throw up if you need to take a trip somewhere in the future.
I’m all for properly tested vaccines, but there’s not a chance in hell I’m gonna volunteer in the first group of guinea pigs to sign up. The risk/reward ratio just seems too high at the moment (although I’m fairly certain that the risk itself will be quite negligible), at least as a relatively young person living in Taiwan and not intending to travel in the near future.
Count me in for the second or third wave of slightly more selfish guinea pigs though, after the first 20,000 have come through unscathed. (Although I’m sure that if one or two of them coincidentally die in a scooter accident, we’ll hear about the dangers of the vaccine here from the usual suspects.)
8 new cases today. Not yet on the CDC website.
Link/details? Seems like Indonesia is the next hotspot.
It was on the news, 8 new cases, but no details yet.
It will be posted on the CDC website later.
I signed up. I’ll do it if they compensate you, don’t require isolation, and, if effective, provide some sort of certification that I’ve had the vaccine.
Like many trials some of the participants will receive placebos. You will know after the study if you were given the vaccine or not. This is needed for control group.
