Not sure how a short term enhanced lockdown in certain districts can be worse.

They can lock up SEA migrants all they want. The virus will still spread and kill people with hukou if they’re infected.

over here Gavin our Calif gov has signed on a decree where those that are vaccinated no longer need to wear masks indoors . Except on planes and trains and at airports and train stations , bart, etc. However individual businesses are free to still demand people wear masks.
People are on their own pledge of honor when declaring they are vaccinated if indeed they are not.
Calif has a vaccination lotto that had paid out 30 I think rewards of 50k and now have announced ten winners of one point five million dollars US each !!
Man those ten are lucky. They are not identified and will be notified by phone, if no answer within 96 hours , the reward goes to someone else. You must be a calif resident to win. So those tourists who came for the free shots wont be taking home any winnings.

if not, locals could pass their virus to them at workplaces, and it will be incubated in their dorms.

Official PCR test results only count.
Suspected positives can be isolated and/or have their contacts traced, which is also helpful, but they don’t count as reported cases.

They do post mortem COVID tests.
~33500 tests and 170 positives today. We have ~0.5 TPR which is a new low in the current outbreak. Hope this trend can continue into the next week when the impact of Dragon Boat Festival traveling comes into light…

It seems not as some say that their local coworkers “treat them like the virus” and they seem at least aware of their (locals) ability to come and go as they please.
