Coronavirus - Taiwan OPEN June 2021

And that is why guys do not look good in sandals…

Just like what happened in other countries. Even in psuedo-lockdowns, the virus is out there, spreading in households and where people have contact with others. It doesn’t get eradicated. If and when you open back up, it starts spreading again more rapidly.

It’s why I think unfortunately that the current situation will become a new normal until enough people are vaccinated. If they go back to Level 2, the spread will increase more rapidly again and we’ll find ourselves rinsing and repeating.

Take. It. Back.

I could use photo evidence. I insist: a lottta guys would really benefit from a proper, professional Mani Pedi.

So a lotta women, too.

There are certain things, like basic grooming, that one can do by oneself. But to take it to the next level, for proper upkeep and maintenance, that’s why we have professionals.

Very few people look good in sandals. I loathe them, and I despise flip-flops. Hideous lazywear.

I’d say the easiest way to disinfect is to send them to me. I’ll make sure to keep those possibly COVID-laden bills stay far, far away from you.

Good. I agree. Sandals belong in the beach.

I’m still going to sanitize my hands anytime I touch something.

Best in the world in terms of drug development, medical venture capital, and top rate hospitals (e.g., Mayo, Sloan Kettering, Cornell Weill, etc.)

I’m still figuring out how to sanitize my hands after I touch the hand sanitizer bottle.

Sanitize the bottle first.

With another bottle?

Yeah, maybe with the public ones that automatically dispense alcohol.

This is all too complicated for me. So I just ingest bleach. Downside is it really irritates my heartburn so I’m going through omeprazole like crazy.

I just saw this new thread. Slightly wonder if I missed anything important.

Number 1 rule of fashion, wear what feels good, and if sandals/flip flops feel good, wear them.

Number 2 rule of fashion (in Taiwan), wear what is good for wet weather and rain, and sandals/flip flops are one of the best options. (I learned that one in Taiwan)

I always find this point kind of irrelevant. Most people don’t need top-rate hospitals most of the time – if we’re talking about deep brain tumors etc., fine, the best specialists at the best hospitals might be desirable, but the majority of conditions can be resolved through affordable access to adequate healthcare.

Question is what constitutes adequate healthcare.

I came to TW with an open mind and there are things I do like about NHI but I have to tell you, some of the doctors in TW scare me to the point where I wonder how they were ever licensed to practice medicine in the first place.

I think you are referring to the NHI healthcare system. Physicians in Taiwan often have to see so many patients that it affects care. And that’s particularly bad when you have people with obviously minor issues go visit a major medical center.

I’ve seen a lot more scary toenails on women than men, to be honest. I think it has something to do with the torture-device shoes they wear.
