The Central Epidemic Command Center announced today (10) that there were 23,808 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Taiwan, including 23,665 local cases and 143 imported cases; 25 new deaths were confirmed among the confirmed cases.
The command center said that there were 23,665 new local cases today, including 10,937 males, 12,712 females, and 16 under investigation; the age ranged from under 5 years old to over 90 years old; the cases were distributed in New Taipei City (4,379 cases), Taichung City (2,962 cases), Taoyuan City (2,675 cases), Taipei City (2,627 cases), Kaohsiung City (2,075 cases), Tainan City (1,703 cases), Changhua County (1,056 cases), Miaoli County (747 cases), Hsinchu County (730 cases), Hsinchu City (611 cases), Pingtung County (565 cases), Yilan County (546 cases), Yunlin County (517 cases), Hualien County (409 cases), Nantou County (398 cases), Keelung City (387 cases), Chiayi County (359 cases), Chiayi City (265 cases), Penghu County (253 cases), Taitung County (224 cases), Kinmen County (161 cases), Lianjiang County (16 cases) .
The command center pointed out that there were 25 new local deaths today, including 13 males and 12 females, aged in their 30s to over 90s. All had severe infections, 24 had a history of chronic disease, 14 hadn’t received the recommended 3 doses of COVID-19 vaccine and 10 hadn’t had any doses at all. The date of diagnosis was between May 19 and August 8, today (2022), and the date of death was between June 20 and August 7. Please refer to the attachment to the press release for details.
The command center stated that among the 143 new cases of immigration today, 71 were males and 72 were females, ranging in age from under 5 to over 70 years old, from Vietnam (12 cases), Thailand (7 cases), and the United States. (6 cases), the Philippines (4 cases), Malaysia (2 cases), Kenya, Austria, Cambodia, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia and Japan (1 case each), and another 104 infected countries are under investigation. The entry date is from July 14 to August 9 this year.
According to the statistics of the command center, up to now, a total of 15,249,365 new coronavirus pneumonia-related notifications (including 10,439,957 excluded) have been reported in Taiwan, of which 4,801,676 were confirmed, including 22,317 imported cases, 4,779,305 local cases, 36 Dunmu Fleet cases, 3 aircraft infections, 1 case is unknown and 14 cases are under investigation. Since 2020, a total of 9,298 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, of which 9,283 are local. The counties and cities of the cases are distributed in New Taipei City with 2,013 cases, Taipei City with 1,053 cases, Taichung City with 922 cases, Kaohsiung City with 856 cases, Tainan City with 727 cases and Taoyuan City. 697 cases, 544 cases in Changhua County, 389 cases in Pingtung County, 283 cases in Yunlin County, 273 cases in Nantou County, 215 cases in Miaoli County, 210 cases each in Keelung City and Chiayi County, 187 cases in Yilan County, 152 cases in Chiayi City, Hualien City There are 151 cases in Hsinchu County, 144 cases in Hsinchu County, 135 cases in Taitung County, 87 cases in Hsinchu City, 21 cases in Penghu County, and 14 cases in Kinmen County; the other 15 cases were imported from abroad.
The command center once again calls on the public to complete vaccinations as soon as possible, implement personal protective measures such as hand hygiene, cough etiquette and wearing masks, reduce unnecessary movements, activities or gatherings, and avoid going to crowded places or high risk of infection transmission and actively cooperate with various epidemic prevention measures, download and use the “Taiwan Social Distancing APP”, and jointly strictly guard the community defense line.
