Yes, yes I am.
Thanks for stating the obvious.
Don’t care one bit how many cases are reported (the numbers a very inaccurate anyways since people don’t want to report) but I am forced to follow just to find out what crazy ideas come out next from our friendly government. And for that browsing thru the thread is good thanks to the active poster here, including you Guy.
I had no problem with the restrictions early on and felt somewhat proud of Taiwan for a while but Taiwan is really failing to accept that the latest variants are less dangerous and spread so easy that the restrictions are simply pointless. What is the point of testing everybody who come in? The cost of case found is how much? Could this testing capacity not be used better in other places?
Good post.
Yes you could make the case for some sort of “opportunity cost” of attempting (in however flawed a way) to count and provide details about cases and fatalities. By contrast, some provinces in Canada have simply stopped counting, stopped testing, stopped communicating—which itself arguably leads to other problems, as I doubt they really have a sense of what is going on.
The CECC, for better and for worse, wants to know what is going on, and is openly publishing and sharing some key details. Not all governments around the world are this open, even when you may disagree with their policy direction.

Who is going to open first? :
Taiwan will open first. I mean what HK is doing doesn’t seem to be that different from 3 + 4.
But we all know Monkeypox will set everyone back at least to the middle ages.
Close the borders stat!!!
The worst novel virus there is the CCP’s ideology.
No reason to close borders but it’s always good to be very extremely cautious when China reports any new disease.

It’s a Tuesday announcement; the numbers are always higher than Monday which is the low day due to the weekend testing factor.
Deaths are way down, though there was another tragic case of an child under five dying following infection . . .
