The Central Epidemic Command Center announced today (14) that there were 49,708 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Taiwan, including 49,540 local cases and 168 imported cases; 37 new deaths were confirmed among the confirmed cases.
The command center said that there were 49,540 new local cases today, including 22,387 males, 27,141 females, and 12 under investigation, aged from under 5 years old to over 90 years old. The cases are distributed in New Taipei City (10,635 cases), Taichung City (6,452 cases), Taipei City (5,853 cases), Taoyuan City (5,453 cases), Kaohsiung City (4,061 cases), Tainan City (2,865 cases), Changhua County (2,137 cases), Hsinchu County (1,520 cases), Hsinchu County City (1,350 cases), Pingtung County (1,316 cases), Yilan County (1,212 cases), Miaoli County (1,125 cases), Yunlin County (1,062 cases), Keelung City (982 cases), Nantou County (872 cases), Hualien County (761 cases), Chiayi County (681 cases), Chiayi City (448 cases), Taitung County (375 cases), Kinmen County (186 cases), Penghu County (164 cases), Lianjiang County (30 cases) .
The command center pointed out that there were 37 new local deaths today, including 21 males and 16 females, aged in their 20s to 90s. All had severe infections, 34 had a history of chronic disease, 32 hadn’t received the recommended 3 doses of COVID-19 vaccine and 21 hadn’t received any doses at all. The date of diagnosis was from July 17 to September 11, today (2022), and the date of death was from September 3 to September 11. Please refer to the attachment to the press release for details.
The command center stated that among the 168 new cases of immigration today, 97 were male and 71 were female, aged between 5 and 80 years old, from Vietnam (24 cases), Indonesia (6 cases), and the Philippines. (4 cases), Singapore and Thailand (2 cases each), South Korea, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India and China (1 case each). Another 125 cases of infection are under national investigation. The entry date is from July 31 to September 13 this year.
According to the statistics of the command center, up to now, a total of 16,931,517 new coronavirus pneumonia-related notifications (including 11,119,820 excluded) have been reported in Taiwan, of which 5,804,343 were confirmed, including 31,292 imported cases, 5,772,997 local cases, 36 Dunmu Fleet cases, 3 aircraft infections, 1 case is unknown and 14 cases are under investigation. Since 2020, a total of 10,366 COVID-19 deaths have been reported, of which 10,350 are local. The counties and cities of the cases are distributed in New Taipei City with 2,188 cases, Taipei City with 1,161 cases, Taichung City with 1,046 cases, Kaohsiung City with 970 cases, Tainan City with 796 cases and Taoyuan City. 786 cases in Changhua County, 418 in Pingtung County, 324 in Yunlin County, 304 in Nantou County, 261 in Miaoli County, 244 in Chiayi County, 225 in Keelung City, 213 in Yilan County, 174 in Hualien County, There are 166 cases in Chiayi City and Hsinchu County, 146 in Taitung County, 106 in Hsinchu City, 29 in Penghu County, and 19 in Kinmen County; the other 16 cases were imported from abroad.
The command center once again calls on the public to complete vaccinations as soon as possible, implement personal protective measures such as hand hygiene, cough etiquette and wearing masks, reduce unnecessary movements, activities or gatherings, and avoid going to crowded places or high risk of infection transmission and actively cooperate with various epidemic prevention measures, download and use the “Taiwan Social Distancing APP”, and jointly strictly guard the community defense line.
