Summary

The Central Epidemic Command Center announced today (17) that there were 65,833 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Taiwan, including 65,794 local cases and 39 imported cases (18 were positive for flight landing tests); 38 deaths.

The command center said that there were 65,794 new local cases today, including 31,827 males, 33,947 females, and 20 cases under investigation, aged between 5 and over 90 years old. The cases are distributed in New Taipei City (18,400 cases) and Taoyuan. City (10,184 cases), Taipei City (9,772 cases), Kaohsiung City (4,979 cases), Taichung City (4,770 cases), Tainan City (2,844 cases), Hsinchu County (2,105 cases), Keelung City (1,917 cases), Changhua County (1,613 cases), Pingtung County (1,536 cases), Yilan County (1,481 cases), Hualien County (1,200 cases), Miaoli County (1,129 cases), Hsinchu City (1,124 cases), Nantou County (614 cases), Yunlin County (581 cases), Chiayi County (556 cases), Taitung County (405 cases), Chiayi City (345 cases), Penghu County (146 cases), Kinmen County (81 cases), Lianjiang County (12 cases), The related epidemic investigation is ongoing.

After being confirmed by the doctor and reaching a consensus on medical treatment, the evaluation and confirmation doctor or his or her medical institution will upload the health insurance IC card or report it to the statutory infectious disease notification system, and the system will automatically determine the diagnosis.

The command center further explained that the local government health bureau will arrange for isolation or isolation treatment in home care or other designated places by the local government health bureau in accordance with the principle of triage and treatment of confirmed cases in the follow-up. 4. Green channel of the enhanced centralized quarantine station/epidemic prevention hotel: for high-risk confirmed patients admitted to the enhanced centralized quarantine station/epidemic prevention hotel (such as 36 weeks of pregnancy or more, less than 3 months of birth and fever, For those who are 3-12 months old and have a high fever of over 39 degrees, etc.), an enhanced version of the centralized quarantine station/epidemic prevention hotel will be set up to provide emergency evacuation green channels to provide emergency medical needs such as childbirth and children, so as to ensure the safety of patients.

5. The principle of hospital transfer: Those who have no need for inpatient medical treatment after being assessed by doctors and meet the conditions for release from isolation can be discharged from the hospital in advance; If you do not meet the health conditions for home care, you will be transferred to an enhanced centralized quarantine center/anti-epidemic hotel. Administrative forms such as “Notice of Release of Isolation and Treatment for Severe Special Infectious Pneumonia” or “Notice of Isolation in Designated Places of Severe Special Infectious Pneumonia and Notification of Right of Submission” required by confirmed patients may be issued by the hospital after notifying the Health Bureau.

The command center will continue to adjust the care measures for confirmed cases in a rolling manner based on changes in the epidemic situation, so as to take into account patient safety and medical capacity.
