I went to Coscto Chiayi today with my wife. We went to pay using her card and the staff told us they her card has a lot of points to use. I checked my card which I do not use often as I always use my wife card if I have it with me. I have over 1500 points to use.

So we used 6k off her points today and sge still has another 5.4k to use next trip. She’s going again tomorrow with some friends so I told her to use her 5k points and take their cash lol

Points expire March 2025

Reportedly a new Thai pork sandwich thingy available now, anyone tried it?

Beitou was packed this afternoon/evening. I managed to find parking and then just cruised around with my daughter (10) getting snacks while my wife did the shopping. So not too painful and managed to get most of the pre-CNY shopping out of the way. Brought a combo pizza home which was really good, first time we’ve tried it.

Tried it, won’t be trying it again! Do not recommend.

I didn’t care for it. Especially the cheap hotdog bun.

The sub that was there before I really liked. Expensive but decent bread and fillings.

I’m going to Costco tomorrow morning in Chiayi. They open at 10am but they will let people drive into the car park area fom 9:30am so I will get there before that.

Important information

Has anyone been able to buy PAMP gold in Costco this year?

It’s been consistently sold out, both in store and online, for the past month. Also it’s not possible to set an “now in stock” notification on their webstore. Very frustrating.

When was it ever in store? (Maybe a regional thing?)

But I don’t get the excitement when there’s plenty of online retailers that always have stock for just a few dollars more:

:person_shrugging:

  • Can’t really trust online stores to send real gold. I trust Costco
  • I’m collecting the Chinese zodiac 5 gram gold bars that are released every Chinese New Year.

I linked to Kitco because they are not only one of the most widely known dealers in the world, they are literally the original and most trusted for online sales as well.

Did you notice if they still have an edible pizza flavor?

I wonder if the canned diced tomatoes will ever show up again. Haven’t seen those in a couple years now, but they’ve disappeared for similarly long stretches before.

Currently no tomato or cheese based pizzas

Only seafood and Japanese octopus ball (both of which have white sauce).

Oh dear.

The seafood is alright IMO (and in my kids’ too) but then again, I’m easily pleased with pizza.

The Chimay baking supply store near Technology Building MRT usually has the Mutti ones (whole) for NT$49 or thereabouts, and those seem better anyway. I sometimes buy from Shopee too.

Not so useful if you specifically need diced of course.
