Dating Taiwanese 24 years younger

I imagine it depends exactly how you define ‘scam’. Plenty of men trapped in otherwise pointless marriages in which their sole function is to be an ATM …

When it comes to ‘proper’ scams, women and men probably respond to different hooks.

How about “I am a handsome and rich yet also lonely Danish man working on an offshore wind project in Taiwan. I am looking for love.”

I wonder if I should spend less time posting on forumosa and more time upping my catfishing game. :cat: :fish: :

Many people are shit. Case closed. People need to care less about finger pointing perhaps. We all be shyte. By we, I mean all groups and lumps of people.

All that said, old dudes with raging hard cocks getting taken by literally pixels on a screen in the hopes of an, also mature pussy, have every right to drain their bank account and do what they want with their money. Equally dumb things like gambling or alcoholism is legal and allowed. Let the dumb be dumb. Free market. If that should be banned, perhaps the government over reach can control their bank accounts and limit their spending :joy:

I forgot my point. Oh ya, fraud. Nearly every time I spend over an hour in the post office, I hear the manager trying to talk some old person out of sending large sums of money to someone they can’t explain well. Banks too. Fucked up how common. But if someone is clear enough to manage their mkeny, let them also be clear enough not to send it to a text message. That’s the definition of retarded. We need better education on fraud in Taiwan. Is so God damned rampant here, we should be teaching elementary school kids about it as if it was an STD.

Obviously joking. Disclaimer. Kinda.

Funnily enough, Sabine Hossenfelder (physicist on YouTube) just did a video about this sort of thing. Some of you might remember this guy:

Ah … ze German lazy.

Catfishing is just pretending to be someone you’re not, whether because someone is not confident in their appearance, or for their personal amusement.

Romance scams / pig butchering is basically catfishing with the intention to scam you out of your money. They will fatten you up over a period of time to gain your confidence, then they “butcher” you and start taking your money.

I heard one sad case of a guy sending all his money to his Chinese gf who then disappeared, and then when he flew to Shenzhen to find her he found out she doesn’t exist.

It was always so obvious on dating apps because in real life women basically never take the initiative or ask for contact info… but the scammers are always in a rush to get off the app to another platform. And you can usually just tell by the photos.

Some did go wrong, but some went really really well~

…except those crypto investments facilitated through dating apps won’t be real most of the time. It’s just a scammer and a fake website showing investments that don’t exist.

Yeah that doesn’t sound like it would be the most recommended investment
