There was an old Yankee codger,
Who tired of pulling his own todger,
He fell hook, line and sinker,
For some Taiwanese tinker,
Who was really a scammer called Roger.
Yeah, Iâve heard something similar too. Although it was a male scammer trying to scam a successful business woman. He pretended to also be a successful businessman in Hong Kong, but keeps putting off actually meeting face to face, and around half a year later he asks for some loans.
Did it work? Itâs surprising how many women fall for this sort of thing too. Youâd think theyâd have a more finely-calibrated bullshit detector - considering most women donât have the âthinking with the small headâ problem, or at least not in quite the same way men do - but they donât.
The scammer finally scheduled a face to face meeting, saying heâs coming to Taiwan, and then a few days before his supposed flight to Taiwan, he called to say something came up, and unless he can get the money right away, he might not be able to take the trip. She was about to send the money, but then her friends talked her out of it. She confronted him on parts of the story that didnât make sense, and that ended the scam.
Quote is female targeting:
â Claiming to be on a faraway military base is the most popular excuse, but âoffshore oil rig workerâ is another common (and fake) occupation. â
