I was in a Hi-Life convenience store this afternoon when I spied a new kind of M&M’s Candy flavor. Orange! So, I bought a bag and I believe it’s a winner. Anyone else tried it yet? It’s considered “Limited Edition” so I’m guessing it won’t be available permanently. I remember that they also used to have the green and white mint flavor and also the red and white cherry flavor from time to time. I wasn’t too crazy about the mint or the cherry, but I really dig the orange chocolate! :discodance:
are those made in Russia too?
No. They are manufactured by Mars Snackfood, Australia. These are real M&M’s, just a limited run flavor.
Tried 'em, like 'em! :lick: I’d love to get hold of a Terry’s Chocolate Orange!
The coconut were OK, but didn’t care for the cherry. And what’s with the ones in the bright green package lately?
Isn’t that a good thing though?
That way you won’t eat too many of them
And please, don’t compare the US to the rest of the world, prices there just don’t compare as just about everything is cheaper in the US…
I think you may be wrong there buddy. The USA is plenty expensive for a great many things. We have the occasional bargain here and there when things are ON SALE, but normal prices are not cheap.
A tie for 50 bucks? A shirt for 50 bucks? A pair of pants for 150? And these are for normal brands , nothing high end.
Nope, its definitely not cheap in the USA. If you shop smart at Ross and other discount places you can get some good deals (thats what I do), but otherwise stay away from the dept stores and the mall.
M and M anything is at least a buck apiece. Recently I really love the german made RITTER SPORT milk chocolate with hazelnuts. ITs super yummy and at 2 bucks a pack at Trader Joes is affordable. Its incredibly good. Got em in Taipei? Get em and devour at will. 100g packs. I am pretty sure i saw em in Taipei.
They are about 2.50 at the supermarkets and traders got em at 2.00 bucks plus tax (9.5pct in many places).
Ritter Sport is NT$65 on special here, NT$80-85 normally, so that’s a fair bit cheaper I guess.
However I find clothes are a lot cheaper in the US than anywhere else in the world I’ve been to.
Maybe I just shop at cheap places like Old Navy etc and that’s why I find it cheap. We buy T-shirts from threadless over the internet and they’re dirt cheap.
Electronics and computer related stuff is cheaper in the US than just about any other country in the world as well.
Not sure what this has to do with M&M’s though…

not fair you guys get to try out all these new flavors of M and M. We just got the chocolate and the peanut and thats it. For 99cents plus tax a small bag.
Plus tax? I thought you lived in California. Candy is considered food in CA and is not taxed.
Where do you go shopping? In CA, I usually buy candy bars when they have the 3 for $1 sales at places like Lucky or Long’s Drugs (now CVS). I’d never pay more than 50 cents for a candy bar. (They were 15 cents when I was a kid… grumble grumble).
Taiwan, being a developing country, should be cheaper than the US. So NT$30 is an outrage.

What supermarket? Andronico’s? Yeah, I could imagine they’d charge a buck for a standard sized candy bar. When in Berkeley, I get my candy at Lucky or Long’s (CVS).
Otherwise, there’s no way I’d spend that much of my hard-earned money on a candy bar. And I’m probably healthier for it.
NT$30 is how much 7-11 charges. I remember when it cost NT$18.
Yes I remember milky way in Taiwan (made in usa) was only 7nt each at 7/11 back in 99 when i left. And they are often a buck here too at 7/11, gas stations and what not. Yes CVS has sales going on now and then that are deals. So does Walgreen now and then. But generally a buck is what you have to pay for a choco bar. Milky way is a buck.
So, here are the other flavors that I’ve seen and tried here in Taiwan.
Wildly Cherry
Crispy Mint
Almond
Hazelnut - This one is made in the Mars factory in Russia. Note the Russian language. It’s hazelnut flavor, but there’s no actual hazelnut inside. Cheap assed Russians!
Orange - By far my favorite!
Coconut - Yeah! This is my second favorite!
Snickers bar with almonds. Is this new? Never seen it before. I haven’t tried it yet. What do you think?
