Does China recognize Taiwan National ID or only their new Taiwan Permanent Resident ID 2018?

There is a special residence ID for Taiwanese living in China, which is basically the same as the National ID issued to Chinese citizens. It follows the same numbering format, and basically makes living… in China much easier.

This is different from the Taibaozheng [Mainland Travel Permit] travel document issued to Taiwanese travelers to China.

What is the requirement to obtain it for TW citizens?

No requirements other than providing proof that you are living in China (utilities bills, etc.) and have a job. (Edited)
