But what if you really do just want to take them home and show them your cat? ![]()
Tough…gotta take the L for now I guess ![]()
No joke. The “back-flipping cat” thing is an established euphemism for asking someone if they want to hook up with you.
Use it.
Like I said, be explicit but not offensive. This question makes your intent explicit yet does not contain anything sexual or offensive.
想來我家看貓咪嗎?
Or
我家的貓咪會翻跟頭 想看嗎?
EDIT: If she declines, she may say something cheeky along the lines of “thanks for the offer, but my cat can do back flips too.”
Then you will make a girl very very disappointed
So I want to ask if hookup culture among gays is a thing here, because I do see a lot of stuff on grindr.
Mod: if it’s not appropriate here feel free to move it to the LGBT forum…
Sounds like I need to up my cat game.
I just said this to my wife. She said she doesn’t like cats.
Never too old to learn! Thanks!
翻跟斗 in Taiwan.
Make sure to have an actual cute cat also
You know, for backup
Cats can be a ice breaker for women here. It shows you are
whats the word
“gentle to handle a pussy”
But what if she likes it ruff? ![]()
Apologies for bombarding you with questions, it gets more fascinating the more I descend into the rabbit hole of learning new cultures. I’m curious as to what is the expectation of two individuals who are in a “not serious relationship”. I’m still parsing that concept from “hookup culture”.
From what I’ve read so far it seems like “hookup culture” refers to straight up sex, no emotions and zero relationship, a “pump and dump” scenario. While a “non-serious relationship” is considered more of a short term “fling” where two individuals have sex but still do couple-like activities?
Would a 6 month long “non-serious relationship” be considered “non-serious”? Or would that be considered a serious relationship? I guess I am just trying to gauge Taiwanese perception of these definitions.
I am not really sure. I may be out of date. Just to say this, in my experience there is a taboo on non-serious sexual relationships. One way to avoid that is to always be serious about your girl, do you understand what I mean?
This could mean many things, but one of the more common interpretations is “no sex until much, much later on”.
So yeah, definitely don’t say that.
By the way, “let’s be friends” doesn’t mean what it does in the West. It means more along the lines of “you can court me and we can see where it leads”.
When a girl says that just counter saying “I am not looking for just friends, sorry.”. And be ready to end it and walk way. Usually they clarify how of course they want to look for more than friends but want to take it slow. Then say you can understand it is important to find the right match, but usually if you meet the right one you should just know quickly.
When I first moved to Taiwan I saw many Tinder profiles that said “looking for friends”.
At first I thought “why the hell are people looking for friends on Tinder?” but only later realized it just means “looking to take things slow/no hookups”.
Also, what if someone they know sees it?
This is actually a very helpful distinction. “Looking for friends” definitely means “I will friendzone you” in the states compared to in Asia.
Yea totally get what you mean, thanks for your insight!
Well, I have 4 cats and never ever ever has it helped me to… Oh… Wait. Ok, please continue and ignore me.
