Per the news, it was tsunami warning, just thankfully no tsunami.
Poor people. Imagine the grip on their collective stomachs every time the siren goes off…
Ha been in Taipei a couple of months now and still haven’t felt an earthquake, when was the last major one, are there any predictions for another big one in the near future?
There was one a few days ago, though the epicenter was in Taitung. Taipei (fortunately) isn’t often the epicenter. As for predictions, I don’t think you can really predict earthquakes scientifically and accurately.
We’re in Japan, in Tokyo. My husband felt this, my son and I slept through it. Been in Taiwan too long.

Luodong (Yilan), it was a 4.4 in the southern part of the region, at the border between Yilan and Hualien. Very short, it felt like someone gave a bump to the building then left.
