Aren’t those just the border pass things intended for very short periods, like several days or less? I thought they’re mostly targeting people from the local areas going back and forth across the border rather than actual tourists.
Not sure how long they’re allowed to stay. The point is they don’t need passports (though apparently they do need ID cards, which they need anyway when walking down the street minding their own business in their own countries).
For a waiter, Turkey is a safer bet. Again, great food, vibrant people, lots to see and do. Not a tropical beach holiday destination, but much easier to get to
Are you from Thailand? Last hours in Milano on the way to the Baltics (Vilnius), no one has mentioned Thailand to me or to co workers here last few days. The brand new staff , her first time to EU and she tires to chat with others here and they like to talk (Italians), but no mention of Thailand. They know Taiwan, and maybe assume she is from China and her reply is Taiwan and they say oh sorry to mentioned the wrong place. For me most mention Japan, then China and Korea.
The worst assumptions are that we are not co workers, that we are BF/GF, my wife or father and daughter haha.
Whenever I hear this, I think maybe they were dumped after a one night stand with a GI who seduced them with candy bars, nylons and a filthy Rodriguez.
Also was in Helsinki , most of the Asia flights are not to BangKok (Japan has the most) and also no mention at all about Thailand to/from my new Taiwan staff
I met a Singaporean woman vacationing in São Paulo today, at the mall. Asked her if she thinks Taiwan is a third world dump. Just like that. She said no, but they’re still using cash, and that’s stone age.
Why on earth would you ask that question? Singaporeans should know Taiwan fairly well. Lots of tourists from Singapore in Taiwan.
These observations are so random that they feel meaningless. That’s why there are polls. If you want any meaningful research, you need to have significant numbers not some random encounters here and there.
