Global Warming VI

Not sure where to put this - since we don’t yet have a “generic dystopian bullshit” thread, but perhaps it belongs here. These are the same people telling you that CO2 is a threat to life on Earth.

Didn’t know whether to post this crap in the funny political pictures thread.
Pollution is global boiling.

Some people who are sensitive to spray ingredients may experience short-term eye or throat irritation, or a rash. People with respiratory conditions may also be temporarily affected.

fugging government. temporarily for how long, months? idiots

Weather maps turn dark red again for the upcoming few days of ‘boiling’.

As summer comes to the southern hemisphere, Australia braces for more of the bushfires that terrorized many parts of the nation in 2019-2020.

FIFY

And as usual the fact-checkers jump in.

TL;DR: not all bushfires are started by arsonists, only a lot of them. And many of the arsonists escape prosecution, presumably because of inadequate evidence to secure a conviction.

To be fair Australia is prone to random bushfires because it’s hot and dry. It is hot and dry every year, without fail, in certain places. Most of Australia has been that way for a very long time; some of it is due entirely to poor land management since Westerners arrived, and has absolutely buggerall to do with “climate change”. But I have no doubt @afterspivak has strong evidence to the contrary.

People accidentally starting fires, I’ll buy. Arsonists are obviously a big problem, for sure. Things burn more if they are drier. Is what’s happening a mental health issue of more arsonists?

Almost certainly. This is what happens in my neck of the woods in 95% of cases, although it doesn’t get as bone-dry as Oz does.

This has always been the case

Is arson causing the globoiling?

Or is globoiling causing the increase in arson?

Looks like covid causing the arson

Then covid is causing globoiling!

No wonder they want us to take so many jabs. Might cool the place down.

It’s clearly obvious to me what’s happening. You disagree with me, which is fine. If I’m right then how to deal with what I think is obvious is something we can debate. Or ignore.

I’m not sure if I do. It may well be true - that the world is drier due to global warming, hence easier to light up.

Some scientists and academics have pulled together some data, and on which they base their claims that the world is heating up.

Scientists and academics also fueled most of the pandemic policies, running the planet into the ground, and creating mass hysteria. Apparently, what they did during that time has led to an increase in arson attacks.

It could be:

“From 1965 to 1991 the percentage of arson in relation to all crimes increased fivefold and in the same timeframe the amount of arson increased nearly tenfold.”

“In recent years, fire-raising has become an increasing problem in Britain and elsewhere…”

Fire Rising: Its Motivation and Management.

There’s been an increase in mental diagnoses the past 100 years or so. Pyromania as a diagnosed disorder is likely to co-exist with another one. Increase the mental illness pie size, likely to see pyromania increase. I guess?

"The rate of pyromania and co-occurring disorders is considered to be high. In one study, 95.1% of individuals with a history of firesetting had a lifetime history of at least one psychiatric diagnosis. Firesetting comorbidity is high and can be seen alongside the following mental health conditions:

  • Antisocial personality disorder
  • Obsessive-compulsive personality disorder
  • Impulse control disorders
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Substance use disorders

Comorbidity with other psychiatric problems:

  • Pyromania and Mood Disorders: Comorbidity of 61.9%
  • Pyromania and Impulse-Control Disorder: Comorbidity of 47.6%
  • Pyromania and Depression: Nearly 10% comorbidity."

Sometimes, the firesetting is a response to increases in what they see as govt overreach:

“About 800 wildfires have struck Italy this year, tripling the normal annual average and causing millions of dollars in damage. But more than half of them were likely started by arsonists or farmers breaching fire rules, authorities say.”

Italian authorities: “Less than 2% are caused naturally…"

In any case, there’s a lot of arsin’ aboot.

Dealing with climate change is expensive, perhaps especially if we don’t deal with it and wait for it to deal with us.

Guy

True that. $16 million an hour! That’s a lot of moola.

I know where all that money might be found:

Billionaires made an extra $54 million an hour during the pandemic, so maybe some of them who made bank in the past few years can spend it on solving global warming :deciduous_tree: :sun_with_face: :moneybag:

So how are things looking in 2023? Here’s a glimpse.
