Haiti President Jovenel Moise assassinated in attack on his residence

Oooh. That’s not good.

I just saw that. Yikes.

Double yikes

Haiti’s President of the Supreme Court would normally be next in line, but he recently died of Covid-19.

President Tsai already sent condolences.

Seems an opportune time for an upheaval. Where are the Clintons?

Suspects claimed to be DEA. Extremely unlikely, though some did speak with American accents- does’t prove they were agents of US government, or even Americans.

Breaking news.

Haiti’s police chief says four suspected killers of President Jovenel Moise have been fatally shot by police and two others arrested after the gang of alleged assassins took three police officers hostage.

Hope there might be some answers, wouldn’t like to be in those 2 shoes.

Wasn’t she one of the first to call Trump too? Lady is connected.

Two men believed to be Haitian Americans — one of them purportedly a former bodyguard at the Canadian Embassy in Port au Prince — have been arrested in connection with the assassination of Haiti’s president, a senior Haitian official said Thursday.
James Solages and Joseph Vincent were among 17 suspects detained in the brazen killing of President Jovenel Moïse by gunmen at his home in the pre-dawn hours Wednesday. Fifteen of them are from Colombia, according to Léon Charles, chief of Haiti’s National Police. He added that three other suspects were killed by police and eight others are on the run.

Weirder and weirder.

This is a bizarre twist. Why would they target the Taiwan embassy?

Mercenaries probably hired by China.

Anti-Chinese sentiment?

That’s one of the suggestions doing the rounds, Taiwans relationship with Haiti being some reason for something, but I don’t recall China ever doing anything like this before. Doesn’t seem like their style to me.

Might be some time before we get answers if ever, until then lots of speculation going around.

I might think that if it was some kind of play by China they wouldn’t want to draw attention to it.

This is relevant. Not a coincidence that an article would talk about Taiwan, Haiti, and countering China.

“Relations with Haiti stable, cooperation projects proceeding: MOFA” - 2018

The South China Morning Post quoted an unnamed Chinese academic who predicts a diplomatic switch because Haiti is attracted to the Belt and Road Initiative, while China already has military units stationed in the poverty-stricken Caribbean nation as part of an international peacekeeping force.

China “predicted” a diplomatic switch, and when it didn’t happen, they hired mercenaries.

“There it is”

China has been unmasked. They are probably the driving force behind every major event since the fall of the Berlin Wall, we wouldn’t know it because it was obfuscated through proxies, subversion and misinformation. Now they are willing to be very bold. For example, Xi talking about “bashing heads bloody” in his CCP anniversary speech. Even Chinese diplomats have become aggressive over the last year, i.e.:

“We treat our friends with fine wine, but for our enemies we have shotguns.” Mr Gui offers a glimpse of a newly forceful brand of Chinese diplomacy (see article). The regime is quicker to take offence, and retaliates more harshly.

We are seeing and experiencing China 2.0

So much that we are unable to know, and probably that will not change. This is quite possibly just a coincidence, but wow this seemed to just precede the event (please let me know if my timetable is off):

Exclusive interview with Haiti's new ambassador to Taiwan: Roudy Stanley Penn | Taiwan News | 2021-07-07 17:20:00

Taiwan embassy is very close to the private residence he was murdered, large upscale area of Petion-Ville outside Port-au-Prince.
Just coincidence.

This would make sense. Hope it is just a coincidence.
