Time to send the wife back out. I’d love to be a stay at home dad. At least for the first few weeks.
I always just tell them right in their dumb faces this is unprofessional and a waste of my time. They need to feel bad about themselves. And that’s how you teach a good lesson ![]()
I had already explained to them my rate. Total waste of time.
The school offering $500/hour that has 60% of that amount calculated and determined as bonus, they wrote back explaining they don’t pay based on the hours worked. Yet, their contract says you have to clock in and out.
The typos and broken English in the contract made it confusing and unintelligible.
I lost bout 1/3 of my income and I’m doing way more work than I was before. One one hand, being online is great because it flows well. However, on the other hand, I’m recorded, observed, struggle with the lack of communication, constantly get thrown into situations I can’t prep for, and my school has parents rate me. It’s just too much considering that we are now expected to bend over backward to keep kids happy both in person and online. If schools didn’t keep asking for more and more for less and less, I might stay and be ok with making just enough to cover bills, but the grind never ends and I’m moving on.
I think i am off too. Waiting for it to calm down in the UK. I can handle not working for a few months, so I might be doing that. My manager just messaged me to say she needs proof that i have been vaccinated to SHOW THE PARENTS. Maybe they want to put a copy on the wall. I feel like this is a step too far. The government think that by vaccinating teachers, classrooms are safe and i am playing along. But allowing parents to come in and ask for medical records is ridiculous. Especially when their kids are never tested.
The government can check but not parents.
Try to get a medical exemption, if possible.
Though, the weekly PCR test could become uncomfortable (and expensive…)
But yes, this is absolutely ridiculous, for parents to demand medical records when there are now 10 cases per day for a 23,000,000 population 😵💫
I plan to take the vaccine, but since I was mostly doing it to make going back easier, i might not now. I just don’t like that the school want to share records with parents. All they need to say is EVERYONE HERE IS FOLLOWING THE GOVERNMENT’S RULES.
say what? parents demand medical records?
Should I demand their medical records and kids medical records as well?
this sounds like lunacy.
Thank you. Others at my school think i am kind of crazy for thinking this is bs.
If you have had it, what do you care? is their thinking.
where is the info about the parents getting the medical records?
It depends on the school. The boss may say, “The parents want to see your vaccination certificate to ensure the safety of their child…”
It’s not a government mandate or anything.
This is not a government policy. This is my manager. I think
what kind of idiots are running these schools?
being vaccinated doesn’t stop COVID from spreading. Are they wanting you to be vaccinated for your own safety? do the parents care about us that much? or is the general population of Taiwan totally clueless how this vaccine works.
Teacher has 2 doses.
student has 0
guess what happens if teacher gets covid? the kids can get it too. Teacher might not die, kids might not die, but the kids seeing grandpa might be a different story.
Any parent who says that must be an idiot. The kid will be sitting next to 20 unvaccinated/untested kids.
This is now the trend in the US. I just bought concert tickets and for the folks inside, it’s an amphitheater, they must provide proof of vaccination to get in. It has begun and there’s little you can do about it.
interesting, is the vaccine limited? like does it say ONLY MRNA is accepted, cos if I am forced to take an az vaccine, what if I can’t do jack shit when I go abroad.
Yes, but this would be like you going to the concert and asking to see all the worker’s records before you went in. And the boss handing them over.
Or i get on the bus and ask to see the driver’s proof of vaccination.
Like I said, it’s the trend. Not all trends are reasonable or rational.
I doubt that the parents ever asked. Prolly just stupid laoban’s imagination. I know many parents of higher education that have concerns about going back to school and prefer online courses. (Parents of lower education or income might not have much a choice, even when they believe so)
Is there anyway to stop them from this idiocy? I’m getting pressure form my schools too. Kinda annoying.
