Has anyone here worked for a Neurolink school in Taiwan and have you heard of a recruiter named Chad Neely? I don’t know how to verify if he is legitimate or not.
I’m in the US and this would be my first time teaching. I applied with my resume over email, had an interview, and received an initial contract/job offer via email. The address of the actual school location is not listed. I asked if we could add that to the contract and was informed that it cannot be changed, but he did send me the link to one of the locations.
Is this normal? Do I need it in the contract for an ARC?
They also will help find accommodations after moving to Taiwan. I’m nervous about the idea of moving without a place lined up.

Thanks I figured that might be the case. I tried to look it up and it seems like schools can put the address on your work permit but might not in a contract, is that right?
Also I only have an associate degree and TEFL, and no teaching experience yet, so I don’t want to seem demanding. But I asked for a Taichung location and that’s where the address he sent me is.
Oh I did come across that post when searching. I also only have a basic understanding of what is needed for an ARC and don’t want to be tricked no matter what school I end up working for.
I’m new to this forum so my apologies if replying to my thread isn’t the best way. The contract guarantees 56,000 NTD for 80 hours per month (for the 700 NTD hourly wage).
The recruiter has been very responsive answering my ARC questions. I will be living in Taiching. Does this sound good as a first teaching job?
The pay seems about right but you will also be asked to work off the clock here and there. Teaching isn’t easy and culture shock in Taiwan can seem overwhelming. Also, look into the tax withholding rules for foreigners that don’t stay in the country more than 6 months in a year. Last I checked it was 20%
Taichung is a mid-sized city. It wouldn’t be my first choice, but I could live there. It has a nice park and decent street food and an actual MRT system. As first jobs, it could be worse. At least you won’t be in the sticks. Hours and pay are not good, but it’s your first job and I guess you can negotiate a higher salary if you stay.
There used to be a Neurolink buxiban across the street from me. But I think it’s one of the smaller chains.
Some folks will have had bad experiences with this buxiban chain, but it can vary by location. Depends on the particular franchise. Some can have great bosses who are good people, and some can have shit bags who care about nothing but the cash. Only one way to know. Worst case, Taichung is a big enough city that if the boss is a shitbag, it shouldn’t be hard to find another job.
Yeah, nothing is more inconsistent than cram school chains. Their company oversight is usually awful and they seem to hand out licenses like candy, so you have great ones and awful ones coexisting under the same brand.
I accepted the position because they confirmed I won’t go under 20 hours. I hope that is the case, and hopefully I can work up to more teaching hours after training.
I got to visit Taichung on my first trip to Taiwan in April and really liked it there.
