I only left tip at end of stay, should I do it every day in America

It may be different person cleaning your room every day. So if you only leave tip on the last day, some of the people that cleaned your room before may not be getting any.

Don’t listen to them. You should never tip less than US$1.
Just put some $1 bills on your bed every day. $5 max. The housekeeper will know it’s for them.
Or you can just leave a larger tip (maybe $10) on your last day because that’s when they do the big cleaning.

My tip: tell your boss to pay you a fair wage so you don’t have to beg for a living.
I saved all my tips to pay for my lads education. I just stayed at at Meriton Suites in Sydney.
Luckily there is a no tipping culture there.
Tipping is a gratuity I should be happy to give not be expected to hand out for someone doing their job. It is not my responsibility to pay the employers salary to their staff.

True story, a Singapore ayi hotel maid asked my wife for a tip once for cleaning the room
They discussed this request after the Singapore ayi claimed to be poor and they found my wife made less money than her at the time. 
No tip was forthcoming.
Tipping somebody for doing their job is weird. If somebody does something extra for me that’s not part of their job I’ll happily tip them. If they’re not being paid fairly for doing their job and I’m paying fairly for what I’m getting then that’s on their greedy boss, not me.

I hate the tipping system too and it’s really on the boss to pay them a living wage, but Americans are so accustomed to tipping that if you don’t tip they treat you like a thief.
I’m fine if they raise the price of the food to cover a fair wage for their waitstaff, but I hate hidden charge. Tip should be for a very good job, as a bonus, not something waiters can guilt customers into paying.
So you guys don’t expect bonuses at your jobs?
Tips aren’t bonuses in the us, it’s pay. They get paid 2 dollars an hour otherwise. It’s basically forced labor and being dependent on people’s chairty to make a living, but supposedly most Americans prefer this because they make more accepting tips than getting paid a living wage.
It’s a job where their pay upside isn’t limited. Better you are at your job and the harder your work, the more you make. I see nothing wrong with it.
Yup, a dollar or two every day for the maid is pretty normal in the USA.
Plus if you are over there and order a meal, don’t tip less than 20% and not expect to be thought of as being stingy.
You could just put the DND sign up and tell them to not clean your room. Then you don’t need to leave a tip every day. Personally I don’t like people coming into my room so I always tell them to not clean it. If I need more towels or something, i’ll just find them in the morning or call them when I get back and tell them what I need.
