I’m from the USA.
English teaching jobs are usually available as great part time work. Many schools also look for people as supervisors or to mark assignments or tests.
Thanks for your links. I much appreciate it.
Cause I lost faith I could do anything else.
Thank you so much. I will check this all out.
Oh really? I wonder what the pay is for a person just to mark assignments or tests?
I think it could be around $300 to $400 an hour.
Or you can teach for at least $600-700 an hour.
You don’t need to sell yourself short. There are many jobs out there. Fake it till you make it.
Are you married to a Taiwanese?
No stress, no drama. Just show up, turn off the old brain, and crank out your hours. Easy to get, easy to quit, never take your work home. No customers, no parents, no screaming children…
Sounds like meditation, paid by the hour
Oh, dude. You just haven’t found it yet.
Please elaborate on these grading jobs. In my experience all grading and marking is pushed on the teacher during class time or dumped on a TA. What schools would even be looking for that?
I’ve been looking for a menial PT job as well, but restaurants and bars sure expect a lot out of you for minimum wage.
I don’t know what exactly to elaborate on. The one buxiban as a stepping stone to get myself established here had people, particularly from Spanish speaking countries as well as locals grade assignments/tests/paperwork as well as watch kids outside of class hours.
Naming the school where you actually saw this position would be a great start!
Hell no.
One, it was many years ago.
Two, not gonna dox myself.
Three, place sucked, boss was terrible to me.
I gave the info you need to find this.
yes
Oh then it should be relatively easy as long as you have open work privileges.
But don’t sell yourself short! Don’t worry about finding menial labour. Find work that you like and apply for it.
Many companies want technical writers in English. They pay more too. You make sure the English is good.
Awesome! Open work rights.
Try looking for dishwashing jobs or busboy jobs in restaurants or bars. Kitchen food prep. Maybe try your local McDonald’s. They might want to put you on a cash register or give you some high visibility for the novelty of a foreigner working there.
Lots of options.
Good luck!
Ps. I’ll contact a friend who manages a Pizza Hut and see if he would want you to run the salad bar. It’s something he’s mentioned on a few occasions. “Have a foreigner run the salad bar for the novelty of it”
How’s your Mandarin?
Im sure there are many sugar mommies who want a foreinger somewhere. Should be a way easier life.
Yeah, don’t drink the juice and don’t let your wife know about it!
I basically don’t know Mandarin at all.
