How do you mute a poster who has a hidden profile?

What’s everyone’s take on the practice of profile hiding?

Mind your own business.

Temp just taught me what the problem was and showed me how to change it.

It’s the hiding of the post history that is problematic. I don’t need to know a poster is a Canadian kindy teacher who likes hockey and bacon. But I like to see where they’re coming from in terms of tediosity of posting.

Yeah. Although I think some posters just want to limit the possibility of being identified because this place has its share of creeps.

Cute baiting.
Hmph.
Let’s hope that serves you better than wholesale groundless besmirching upon the good works of sincere, well meaning posters who have only the best interests of all humanity at heart.

Probably more of a risk for you. In 20 years no ones ever come after me. :bomb:

I’ve been here shorter than that and I have my fair share of “”“fans”“” ! Yay!

Whaaaaat?

Yes, hiding one’s profile can make it less easy for “fans” to PM you.

The bigger issue for me, though, is that’s it’s just another layer of air gap between my social media self and my irl self so that the forces of political correctness are less likely to punish me for my heresy.

I rarely receive PMs from anybody apart from friendly users.

You can still see their posts in an advanced search.

Mods can’t be ignored?

Nope! Ha ha ha!

I really don’t find it funny especially when they support racist posts.

Well, that’s what it is. You can’t ignore mods on Discourse, or in most forum settings I suspect. You can feel free to raise any issues with mods here in the Feedback forum.

Why so I can be gaslighted again?

So don’t raise them. That is entirely your choice.

Evidently not because I can’t block mods.
