toilet paper rolls should be coming off the top towards your, not down and under. not only easier to tear, but it tends not to rub dirty stuff when it dangles as it would if it were from the back hanging on the wall. sounds picky, more a problem in public bathrooms with disease. im guilty of caring about this one too, but the logic is solid!!
taiwan got it right and just used a bit more pollution to wrap it up in plastic and put it “nose tissue” style in folded bricks. problem solved. especially in asian bathrooms where everything gets wet and humid, useful.
