Huashan Park Murder in Taipei

I wonder who is the mountain in whom the family leans on. Takes a lot of guanxi for such an expedite action.

Even there are no cops in sight.

In many of these cases, the families are co dependents, meaning they act as assistants, facilitators, of the bad behaviors.

Discrimination and sexual harassment are daily bread of most women workers, not as frequent for males, just by sheer number of incidents.

And more women than men kill their offspring. When do we start the riots??

And both are illegal. Not saying it doesn’t happen if you read what I said. Should we assign people to watch every room in the office or follow all the workers? Surely we can do better than blame toxic masculinity.

Sure but like being fired for being pregnant, hardly anyone gets any justice from making legal claims. On the contrary, you are labeled a troublemaker and in Taiwan’s tight workplace, the options for a new job are limited.

I work for the government and women in the office that suffer from abuses know that if they do not comply, their careers are over. That this happens at such level is a disgrace. But then you look at the corruption within and it is just one more item in which the letter of the law is just ignored.

Welcome to the work force. These are the things men dealt with for ages! Listening to feminists speak about inequality at work, sounds like they’re saying the new experiment of men and women working together isn’t working out.

It’s like women just found out office and work life isn’t as glamorous as they thought and they weren’t missing much staying at home being the homemaker. Guess what, work sucks for 99.99% of us. Stop looking a few people that kill them self to be the CEO and think it’s awsome. It usually sucks for them too working 80 hour weeks.

office politics is another form of inequality at work.
Kind of like those conservatives working in Google or other Silicon Valley firms. They basically fear for their lives “coming out” as supporters of Trump. Is it fair, no. Is it a form of abuse, perhaps. Is it reality, yes. Will it stop, no. Life goes on.

Yeah, I never understood why criminals are allowed to cover their faces with a motorcycle helmet in front of the media.

They should be required to show all… and never live down the shame.
And then a step further for serious crimes like murder that are obvious as to the perpetrator… a trip to the gallows immediately.

Amen Lillith. Exactly my thoughts on the matter.

Cops are too nice in Taiwan. They should not give someone like that the curtesy.

Showing their face won’t do much help and risks the danger of having more copycats.

When the 鄭捷incident happened, Taiwan went into a hysterical phase of random killing spree reporting(luckily most turned out to be false).

Criminals as sick as these ones probably are seeking for notoriety too.

I think for Taiwan, shaming them would work. In America, yeah these killers want fame and stuff for their “work”. But the idea of family shame and losing face is strong here.

I’m not sure about that. In some cases… a bit. But we are talking about murders and crazy shit here, and those crimes are done by people out of their minds. Either situations in which they go out of control, or people who are deranged, or both things. So probably the image of coming out a police station without a helmet and being seen like that on TV doesn’t come to their minds when planning or perpetrating those crimes.

How brave of you. :tumble:

Oh, Finno just revealed he believes in the existence of TM. :idunno:

Ah, so this murder was caused by lack of toxic masculinity – the guy must have been mollycoddled as a child! Obviously we need to send all sissy boys to TM boot camps where they’ll learn how to shout and hit like real men if we want to prevent this sort of thing… [end sarcasm]

Maybe now you know how Muslims feel.

Did you miss the thread where we talked about how the term was actually invented by masculinists?

Why not just give the death penalty to the whole family, or better yet, the whole village? It worked in former centuries. [end sarcasm again]

It would probably make tm people think twice about doing something like this.

Oh, so Andy believes in TM too. :idunno:

Um, Andy, I realize male-on-male sexual harassment is a thing, but what exactly is your claim here?

Wow, women “just found out” what it’s like to leave the protection of their male guardians i.e. walk outside unescorted – and what it’s like to have real jobs. :hushed: What country are we in again? Saudi Arabia?

Work was no picnic for homemakers either, except the percentage who could afford servants. It’s different now with modern technology, but it’s still work.

Yeah, I never understood why people are innocent until proven guilty. Especially when it comes to the death penalty! [where would we be without sarcasm?]

Let’s talk about your feelings. :rainbow:

My feelings are that you are using demagoguery and fallacies.

Go on.

I think shaming works well for normal folks.

The face issue with most Taiwanese families is usually none deadly, but when taken to extreme does produce nut heads.

By the way, the boxing coach and archery coach homicide are coincidental? Or copycat?
