This is turning out even better than expected for the Chinese government intelligence collection efforts.
Now not only Huawei, but anybody that adopts this open source operating system will be part of the game.
Hello is Huawei banned in Taiwan or people still can use Huawei?
AFAIK it is only banned during active military duty. An internal military rule.
Also Xiaomi, etc.

Chinese phones are cheap
They make the money back on all that information they are collecting.
They all collect information.
Whether they are the smartphone maker or the App you use on the smartphone. So, I don’t care either way.
