Oh yeah, the day the real ones come out in black, stay out of my way.
I really was tempted on the U2 one but figured Paul and the lads didn’t need MY money, and the extra cost for the color was offensive to my highland sensibilities (don’t tell Sman).
I kinda feel like the only thing I’ll buck up for is Gigs…'til then, I’ll enjoy the aesthetics of OTHER PEOPLE’S…
And I just got a mini less than 2 months ago. Time for another iPod.
Does anyone know when the Ipod Nano will be available in Taiwan?
That nano is far too perfect. Just when I thought my normal iPod was the dog’s bollox…
Who knows. Everytime I ask a store about a new Apple product, I think they’re pulling the number out of their ass.
I’m having a co-worker bring one back from vacation this week.
It should be here shortly before Apple releases the next Ipod.

The nano can also display song lyrics. If you’re using a Mac, pearLyrics can auto download and import lyrics into iTunes.
This new one uses flash memory correct?
Yes. that’s why it’s so small. And the price is really good for flash.
Samsung also announced today a doubling of flash density. Can’t wait til the day when we’re using flash hard drives. My god hard drives are slow.
l really wish apple would make ipods with fm radio. l’ll hold onto my shuffle until that happens …

I think fitting an FM radio and keeping the design as small and elegant is quite a challenge.
I used to complain about antenna area on my Powerbook. I still think it ruins the lines but ah well, what can you do. Me, I can get very passionate about every single design element, no matter how small.
There are at least two aftermarket FM radio addons for the Powerbook: one for any iPod with a dock connector, one for the Mini.
I dunno if the price will be too inflated. The prices are pretty inline to CDN prices and no tax either. This was apple.com.tw. Real life is another story.
It’ll be the same as the mini. Was it 6800 and 8900 nt?
at least we’re not in France. Some iPods are 50% more than the US prices. There are some interesting taxes there. It ends up being cheaper to travel to London to get your iPod.
The prices are really good. Korean companies are already complaining that Samsung gave Apple a huge discount on flash. Volume prices on 4 gigs of flash are reportedly $180 US. That makes for small margins on the $250 nano sans discount. Even so, it’s worth it since Apple will do doubt increase their market share.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they have 90% of the worldwide market within 5 years. Certainly when Apple can make all iPods flash-based.
It’s possible no other mp3 player company will ever get flash as cheap as Apple.

Within the next few months we should see FM addons for the nano. I hope someone makes a nice looking lanyard without integrated headphones.
