This is the poison of identity politics. It resuscitates racial thinking. It further fragments society by presenting some ethnic groups as being more worthy of support than others. It eats away at the principle of equality – in which colour-blindness is absolutely key – and replaces it with an ideology of equity in which both government policy and government personnel come to be hyper-racialised issues.

Nothing newly drilled is gonna alleviate the price at the pump.
I’ve read the stuff they tried to pawn off wasn’t the good stuff.

And this. Big Oil isn’t going pony up big bucks to have the area shut down on a green tinged whim.
For environmental groups, the decision was welcome news. The Alaska offshore lease arrangement would have opened drilling opportunities over a span of more than 1 million acres for 40 or more years of production. The new activity would have led to new underwater pipelines and platforms in the environmentally-sensitive area.

Promised myself I wouldn’t do an update to popularity until I saw it both dip below 20% strongly approve (now 17%) and strongly disapprove went above 50%.
Strongly approve is weaker than strongly disapprove, both have been pretty stable with strongly approve usually around 20 to 24% for the last 6 months, but it dips below 20% quite regularly. The strongly disapprove crowd are much more stubborn, it’s been in the 46 to 50% range as well for 6 months but wouldn’t break that 50% mark, until today.

Inflation is how all that free money is paid back so by the time inflation subsides people will be lucky if they have any spare change left.
