I still haven’t tried Good Rolling yet. I rolled by one day and there was a line so went to another nearby favorite.

Yeah, they’re not very close to any MRT station and don’t offer Uber Eats or any kind of delivery, which I think is hurting their business.
In fact, the place was empty today, and the owner was quite surprised to see me. He kept asking me questions like “how did you find out about us?” as if I had just stumbled upon an exclusive cult and I wasn’t supposed to be there.
Did you tell him?
They have a good dinner crowd, once i went and it was full. Another user has said he’s seen it full a lot

Now that I’m back in KS, I must add another contender to the list. This one used to be only in Chiayi but now they opened one in Kaohsiung, too.

I looked at that fabao place, noped out though.
Reason
- They need to clean their seating area out the back
-Their burgers are all too big, not everybody needs a monster burger
-Their prices are really not cheap for the minimal comfort they provide (potentially mosquito ridden back area, messy looking, no indoor seating )
-Burgers look kinda heavy with peanut sauce, unknown extra toppings definitely more Taiwanese than French etc
-Offer more choice than…burgers…
Lastly nothing French about the place except for they stuck a French flag on the outside wall.
Calling it French is kinda ridiculous.
I think some folks have low expectations which are easily fulfilled here. I look at the list above and there are many run down bars/restaurants pushing out fairly mediocre food (Taiwanese/Western ), Burgerking or Mosburger is as good as some of them. It’s also similar to when I see folks raving about those American bbq places but the vegetables and sides look absolute rubbish. Like how hard is that. :).
Yeah I’m not easily impressed I guess so sue me.
Which location? I didn’t try the Zuoying one, the one I went to was clean enough. My burger was peanut-less

Welcome to Kaohsiung. I’m trying every place that had been suggested, some of those I didn’t give nice reviews. If you know a burger place not on the list please recommend. If you want a recommendation there is only one for burgers, top of the list. Mon Poulet and Yaletown have good sandwiches, though
I mostly cook at home. I’ll be the first to say the restaurants in this city are terrible.

At least you found some good sandwiches. It’s really hard to find those places. Poulet was a good recommend for pizza I enjoyed that.
Yes! That place is pretty good. It’s walking distance from me so I eat there all the time.

They are a Tainan chain with locations nationwide.
Chiayi! But yes, they sell franchises now and expanding pretty well across Taiwan.

+1 on YALETOWN Bistro. The food there is incredible.
Also +1 on Yaletown Bistro.
