Does anyone know a place I can find an advent calendar in Taiwan?(you know those calendars with chocalate in them that you can open around Christmastime?) I think it would be fun to have one for some of my classes, but don’t have a clue if you can get them in Taiwan, or where to look. Thanks!
Costco has them this year for under 150nt each. I’ve also bought them from Wendel’s in years past.
bingo!
Wendell’s definitely has them… they have the cheap ones (though not as cheap as Costco at $190) but also much fancier ones as well $500+. Got the cheap one and actually think the chocolate is better than the cheap calendars in the US
Can anyone confirm that Costco still sells them? I’m looking for one too
I got two at Wendel’s Da-An branch today. They are on sale. 100 or 150 each. 100 for the traditional-looking ones. 150 for the cartoon ones. Made in Germany. They had about 50 left when I went in.
I can never look at an advent calendar these days without thinking of this.

God I love this show
IKEA has empty ones (santa or Xmas tree) where you can put your own treats inside the windows, and then re-use next year. Very large too, you could put in small gifts or cookies instead of chocolate.
I saw cadbury advent calendars in jason’s in 101 yesterday
I just made my own
Very good. Ho, ho, ho. Merry Xmas!
But since when did advent calendars need chocolate inside? Isn’t a partridge in a pear tree pic sufficient?

24 hmm, better get a case of whisky to fill it out.
EDIT: ahhh I missed that floater there. All good.
Anyone seen any nice advent calendars this year?
Wendel’s usually has some. (I haven’t checked this year, though.)
I’ll check it out. Thsnks!
IKEA had some a couple of weeks ago. “Nice” would probably be hyperbole, though.
Bump: I sometimes hear about advent calendars for alcohol. A different little bottle of whisky each day to drown one’s sorrows in the Christmas season, that sort of thing. Do those exist here? If so, where?
Master of Malt is an example.
EDIT: Ah, it looks like Costco has had them, at least for wine, in the past: any reports about availability this year?
I’m 90% sure I saw them for wine in Zhonghe a few weeks back, because I remember thinking that if they had beer ones I’d be mildly interested but conclude it’d be too annoying to carry home.
