What could possibly possess you guys to cheat on your girlfriends/wives/boyfriends? I don’t get it; it causes much more hurt than breaking up the relationship (especially when she catches you lying about it). Why would anyone stay in a relationship if they just wanted to screw around?

I was unwittingly a participant in another foreigner playing games with his Taiwanese girlfriend. The second I found out I dropped him like a second-hand Kleenex. He got upset because I started to lecture him about how wrong he was for doing that to his girlfriend before I kicked him to the curb. Nevermind the fact that he lied about having broken up with her before we met. The scary thing was that he seemed shocked that I didn’t want to stay in the relationship.
Pictures are pictures and I never understood why other females get upset when their men look at or watch porn. When it interferes with their time together, then it’s a problem, but within healthy limits it’s okay. Anything with a female friend, might spark jealousy…this from someone who has been friends with quite a few attached men. Maybe that’s why I would be jealous…because I know, but it’s not cheating. Cheating to me would be sex with another person (“sex” being defined as any any act that can be described as _______ sex including manual). Unforgivable cheating would be if it were with a mutual friend. I can forgive a lusty moment with a stranger, but never with a friend. Pretty much anything else, a kiss, making out, dancing, whatever that doesn’t involve direct contact with genitalia might draw varying levels of jealously as long as she or he isn’t my friend, but it wouldn’t count as cheating in my book.
Then again, I’m single so my mind might change if I were to ever be in a serious relationship.
I thoroughly concur with Tigerman’s post. Without seeming ungallant toward his wife I do not think she is so much a genius as simply utilizing what actually is a pretty common survival strategy among Chinese wives. My situation is almost identical, especially concerning money. She controls all the money, pays the credit card bill after having examined it thoroughly to see what has been spent and where, gives me NT$1,000 a day for cab fare to work and back and maybe a drink after work
